Steve, As a dirtbike racer my self. I think this is the best Game for dirtbikes yet.very realistic physics. This game is tough especialy in supercross. Im already about 75% done with the racing part and about 15% with freestyle. I like how theres 14 diffrent series you can race in. very good game for 40 bucks

      Re: Anyone get Unleashed??

I got it and have had a fair amount of playing time. I am up to the 250's in the career mode. Some things I like:
Graphics are what you would expect on the x-box, no complaints here!

Sound is good, with a 5.1 digital surround system it is very enjoyable, especially on the bigger throatier bikes.

Control is tight (however there is a caveat there, more later).

Very good number of tracks, both SX & MX as well as freestyle.

The ai is both good and bad, they will play hard and aggressive, yet they land on you wayyyyyy to much. During the beginning of career mode they are easily beatable both on the Supercross and the Nationals tracks. However, when you get up to the 250's, they become much more difficult, the races can be very close, although on the right track I can run away a bit.

When you jump, you just get too much air IMO, you barely need to use the pre-loading for most jumps other than maybe if you want to triple a particularly large string of jumps.

Ok, back to the control. First you cannot customize your buttons. IMO this just plain blows. I would really like to be able to map the gas to the right trigger and the break to the left, so I could feather the gas etc. The whole clutch system is a nice addition, which I think can be improved. When you go into a turn and hit the brake and turn, you can bring the back end around and at the same time "pop" the clutch for a nice burst of speed. However, this can be tricky for those of us who are alittle older and their hand eye coordination is not what it used to be. If you mistime it or take too long doing the whole process i.e. brake>turning>clutch & gas, you WILL be left behid by the ai.

It would be nice if they had made it so that the ai would "bobble" every now and again, like in real life. Certainly you don't see Reed, or Stewart bobble very often if ever, but many of the other riders do. I get the same feeling I got from PGR2, the ai can do no wrong. But overall, it is still a boat load of fun racing, and many races are very close.

One other thing of note, there is a "Pro racing physics" that can be un-locked, I have not un-locked this yet so I cannot comment on it, but I look forward to seeing what the differences are from the stock racing physics as it is called in game to the pro racing physics.

Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to be as thorough as possible. If anyone has anny questions shoot.

      Chris

Great impressions of a title that intrigues me. Wish it had Live play, though.

            Thanks again.

I just finished reading through a 23 page thread at another site regarding MTX Moto... and I have to admit while I was initially skepticle of it, it seems as though it may be the sleeper hit of the MX genre. There has not been very much hype or even info released. However one of the developers was speaking about it and answering questions about it daily. And I think from a realism/sim standpoint that MTX may just be the winner. Regardless, I am enjoying MXU, but will definitly pick up MTX and whichever is better will be kept. Don't tell my sis I said I think MTX might be better, cause she works for THQ.
