Graphics 9.0

Sound 9.0

Gameplay 8.0

Lasting Appeal 7.0

OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 8.8

Common sense says that it's illogical to compare the game to GT3 in every sentence. Common sense says that despite a few weaknesses, it appears to be a worthy purchase for Xbox racing fans looking for the most complete racing title.

Sega is going to release an expansion disk ("much like DOA3") which will have more tracks and cars. Basically, IGN's gripes about the game were those two factors. With the expansion disk, the game is easily in the 9's.

I don't know if it becomes a 9, but I know I've seen numerous references to the "Sega GT 2002 Append Disk". Teamxbox has had mentionms, but they are down.

I can point you to Gamefaqs - if you search for "Sega GT 2002", you will see listings for the game, the Append Disk, and Online. Proof? Not until it ships - but it's at least vaporware ...

I will probably buy it. I am not a die hard racer fan, so it should satisfy me.
