Re: Not Me, Maybe
I think there's a lot of legitimate cynicism surrounding this title, for many reasons:
1. Sega GT sucked for the Dreamcast. Dull courses, floaty handling.
2. Do we need another dull, car-collecting Gran Turismo clone? GT is overrated, so we do we need a clone?
3. There are only eight to 15 tracks in Sega GT 2002, depending on which preview-review you read. Either way, that's not enough.
4. Very heavy concentration on Japanese vehicles. Great if you like the rice burners, but where are the European cars and a wider selection of American iron? GT2 was the king of car selection even if the game was too easy and dull.
5. Many previews/reviews praise the lighting effects but say other graphics are plain and even dull.
I'm a sucker for new driving games, but I'm probably looking to rent this one first. The sting of Sega GT for the DC -- what a pile of sh*t! -- still burns a bit for me even now.
Take care,
