Sony and Driveclub Clear Up the PlayStation Plus Edition Subscription Issue

Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition details were released a couple of days ago and it caused quite a stir among fans. Users were told if they upgraded from the PS+ edition to the full edition, it would be playable as long as they kept their PS+ subscription active.

Everyone can calm down. Sony posted an update today.

Our priority for DRIVECLUB is to enable you to play and enjoy everything it has to offer and PlayStation recognizes that the prior plan for DRIVECLUB entitlement for the upgrade to the PS Plus edition was not appropriate. As a result, we have adjusted the PlayStation Plus terms for DRIVECLUB.

Now, If you intend on downloading DRIVECLUB PlayStation Plus Edition, and upgrading to the full game experience, you will have access to the full game even if your PlayStation Plus subscription runs out.

Of course it was not appropriate. Why was this plan even on the table and why was it considered in the first place?

Do they want to lose customers and sales?? Doesn't make sense to me.

I don't think there was confusion to be cleared up. They were smart enough to change how it worked and that DC was no different than buying any other game from the PSN store.
