Re: MotoGP 14 patch is out.
I skimmed this thread and see that most of you are PSN users and have imported copies of the game...so I think I may go ahead and ask something.
What's up with DLC for the XBL folks? I finally picked up this game yesterday since 360 is region locked and it's now available in N. America. It did an auto-update (assuming a patch) right when I fired it up, but I can't figure out where to find DLC, if any is even available.Comment

Re: MotoGP 14 patch is out.
Had the same issue Iluv. Try going to the on demand section, find 14 go to details and then go to the extras section..you should see the dlc thenEA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: MotoGP 14 patch is out.
Just bought this today for my xmas ps4.
I see no patch.
My version when I check the game is 1.0
I did grab all the dlc after playing it for 2 hours. Its pretty damn fun, you cant push the bike or it will slide out or high side on you. Cpu is way smoother than me. As soon as I decided that I didnt care where I finished and just concentrated on hitting corners correctly my riding improved.
I also say ridiculous to every poster on the web who says the graphics look like ps3. The game looks fine and the racing is so intense you dont have time to see much but viewing replays it looks ace.
I wish there was somewhere where you could view all the bikes but you can only press showroom when you are setting up a race to load and view one bike and rider at a time.
What I really want to know is where is the patch?resident curmudgeonComment

Re: MotoGP 14 patch is out.
To follow up.
Mine is 1.0
The patch would make it 1.01
Things I do not know,
does the USA version already have the patch?
Is the patch only available in europe?Attached Filesresident curmudgeonComment

Re: MotoGP 14 patch is out.
I may be talking to myself in this thread but that's ok.
When I go to milestones site (the dev) they have a PC patch that is labeled 1.0.
So maybe I have the right version of the moto gp? In my download history there is no listing for a MOTOGP update so if it did not come on the US disc I do not have it.
Now, that being done, on to the game itself.
I have played quite a few of these video games and ride a suzuki sv650 IRL when I feel like it. Cell phones and terrible drivers make riding a motorcycle increasingly more dangerous than it should be on a daily basis.
Been playing a lot of Forza 5 and horizon and GT6.
1st, motogp's graphics. These are sublime. The replay mode and the freecam when you pause the game are outstanding. The bikes are lovingly reproduced and compress and spring well enough. Damage is modeled fine. Zero complaints about the graphics. Humans behind the adboards and hoarding do look a little sketchy but the only time I have noticed that is when I go into freecam and swivel around and see them.
2nd, Sound. Sound is ok, I don't mind the lack of any in-race commentary because it would just become repetitious. The bikes themselves sound decent. I have read comments saying all bikes sound the same. This is not true across classes, the redbull, moto2, moto3 and motogp all sound different. Same with the classic bikes sounding different.
Now when you go in a class and then go from Honda to Yamaha I feel less of a distinction. I did time trials last night and went from those 2 to a ducati and while the sounds are extremely similar I do think they are a bit different. But it's so close I could see how people would think they all sounded the same. At the same time, they are all tuned to the max and have similar performance exhausts equipped, how much different should they sound?
3. gameplay. This is where this game shines. #1 the AI is not dumb, they get out of the way or race around you and not through you like so much racing AI has done. This leads to some extremely thrilling side by side racing. When I first started the game it was like whoa, I cannot control this beast. But you play the game for about 2 hours and it clicks with what you can and can't get away with. From starting on a motogp bike and falling several times to winning a redbull race on the small bikes, to finishing 8th in a moto3 race to placing 14th in a motogp race, it all started to gel and by the time I climbed aboard a gp bike I was much smoother and clean as I put in laps. I dig this alot.
4. more gameplay, modes, lots of things to do in this game. I did a few of the champion challenges because I remember those years of racing well, there was a lot more US tv coverage when Rainey and Schwantz were racing so it's blast to play these challenges and remember these events.
The redbull series dlc is cool because all the bikes are the same and its more about riding skill. I have done well on those bikes. Those bikes don't have much torque so you never lose the rear tire like you have to be mindful of on a GP bike. But it does teach you how this game wants you to apply the throttle, keeping traction on the rear tire smoothly. And once you figure out how to lean the stick to set up corners the game comes together nicely and you can really lay down so smooth laps.
Did not start career mode yet other than setting up my custom rider.
5, engineer. In the pits, this is a great addition to a racing game. You tell him how you feel about something and he makes suggested corrections and you can agree or disagree. I told him I did not like the lack of stability when exiting corners, he offered up a solution, I accepted and took 2 seconds off my lap time. Brilliant, I don't have to manually set up fork rate (although you can) I can just say it feels a bit wobbly under throttle and the engineer susses it out. Again, brilliant.
6, laguna seca DLC, when I high sided going into the corkscrew I just laughed. You really have to prep the bike going into that section, you have to scrub off some speed before you hit the crest or you will high side. I am just falling in love with how you have to set up corners the correct way or pay the price. It's so cool to throw a good lap down and stay in shape but then the next pass to throw the rear up on some curbing, have to get off the throttle to not lose the back which makes you exit with a new trajectory that makes the next curve setup slightly off, is sweet, it's all about rhythm and it can take a curve or two to get it back together.
This game is a blast so far.resident curmudgeonComment

BL8001,
I will check later, I had the EU version imported many months ago and I know I got the patch. But then I got the US version and started a career over on that so I will look on my PS4 later and see what I can find out for you.Comment

Re: MotoGP 14 patch is out.
Yeah I got the redbull rookies dlc and the additional riders and 2 tracks with no issues.
Each time I play I click options on the tile and do check for game update and it says I have the latest one.
This is weird.

Re: MotoGP 14 patch is out.
I love it. I ordered it from Europe so been playing it for months now. Probably my most played game by far at least until F1 2015 comes out. Framerate is good, I think the graphics look great, the only issue for me is the ai is approximately 3 seconds faster in the race than in qualy, but I think they may have fixed that in the patch, I am not sure.
Cfiore, did the patch fix this?resident curmudgeonComment

Wow. No luck. I don't get it.
Made a uk account, did check for update and it says 1.0 is the latest.
Jumped in the store and I have 5 items in the uk store instead of 4 in the us store for moto gp.
Great its the patch! Nope, its the euro season pass.
I did snag the mxgp demo which isnt available on the us store so I guess that is a plus.Attached Filesresident curmudgeonComment
