Re: F1 2015 Available Today For Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC

It plays fine with a controller. i have it on PS4, so that controller works fine.

I may need to put damage on reduced or off. I really like how the damage model works but it seems one way. I have only raced/qually/practiced 7 races so far but in about half of them I have sustained some damage. The main issue is the cpu car that is involved in the collision NEVER suffers damage. It's like there is a setting for cpu damage and I have it set to off.

Writing that I am going to check if that exists. I don't recall seeing that setting.

Im playing with a controller. Not having any issues, you've just got to be good with feathering your throttle and brake controls, and the wheel too. Don't just slam the triggers down, or slam the steering to the left or right. You've got to ease into everything.

And for what it is worth, the codies forum is rife with this and this and this does not work in the game...

Thankfully I have not seen a single issue yet, glitch/bug wise

I also have only been doing quick races. Things may be buggier in the driver season mode.

Also in the US we do not have the latest patch, which is 50/50 at codies whether it made it worse or better.

I will dare say the Codies F1 forum, at least for past versions of F1, are more acidic than our own Madden forum.

I'll start a thread for car set ups for various tracks, if you guys are interested. This helps out greatly with oversteer/understeer.

              Cool, do that please.

I think they did a good job this year with the car differences. A force india is much easier to drive than a sauber and the marussias are downright awful.

Anyone remember that EA F1 game where all the cars were equal?

Another lovely F115 touch, the car behavior when low on gas vs. full of it.

And for anyone who is new at this game, when you qually you are trying to be quickest on your 3rd or 4th lap. So roll or fly out and lap twice smoothly then hammer down on your 3rd, if you don't post a good lap stay out for the 4th. Then go back in the pits and do this again if you need to.

And for rolling out vs. flying, I have not seen a gas weight difference. So far in my limited play, (8 races) the quick lap seems to be the 3rd fly or roll. Could be a bug but it does not really matter, you can still set a hot lap time either way.

The one thing, that I assume is a bug that really bothers me... I have the pit assist setting on. Which I assume means it's keeping me at pit road speed on it's own. When I'm exiting pit lane, before the game gives me back control and it's keeping me under the white line, sometimes for some reason it either downshifts into 2nd gear, or gets stuck there and just over revs like crazy. Then my crew starts telling me that the engine is showing signs of wear and will be down on power. Kind of goofy really.

Yep, Brandon, that has been noted at the codies forum and the admin who is passing info to CM has indicated he has made them aware of that and it and they said it should be patched.

The problem here is, I have moto gp 14 and it was patched in Europe at least once and that patch never came to the USA.

I really hope that isn't going to be the case for this game but so far there has been at least 1 extra patch for the PS4 in Europe that has not arrived in the US yet. If we do get the patch, it will not address the 2nd gear pit exit issue, that will be the following patch possibly/hopefully.

Spectacular crash happened behind me at Suzuka. Only noticed it when watching the race replay.

And for anyone interested in the tyre colour choices...

                      The compound designations and colours:
                      P Zero Red (supersoft),
                      P Zero Yellow (soft),
                      P Zero White (medium),
                      P Zero Orange (hard),
                      Cinturato Green (intermediate),
                      Cinturato Blue (full wet).

P Zero™ Red Supersoft. The softest compound in the range – which is completely new for this year – is ideal for slow and twisty circuits, especially in cold weather, when maximum mechanical grip is needed. The supersoft benefits from an extremely rapid warm-up time, which makes it ideal in qualifying as well, but the flip side to that important characteristic is of course increased degradation. This is a low working range compound. One of the key evolutions on all the tires this year has been optimisation of the footprint pressure and temperature distribution. This presents a more even contact with the asphalt, improving grip and handling. The supersoft is the only tire with a completely fresh design this year, created to offer greater resistance to graining and blistering.

P Zero™ Yellow Soft. This is one of the most frequently used tyres in the range, striking a very good balance between performance and durability, with the accent on performance. It is still biased towards speed rather than long distances, but is nonetheless capable of providing teams with a competitive advantage both at the beginning of the race on full fuel and when used as a ‘sprint’ tire at the end. This is a high working range compound.

P Zero™ White Medium. Theoretically this is the most perfectly balanced of all the tires, with an ideal compromise between performance and durability. As a result, it is extremely versatile, but it often comes into its own on circuits that tend towards high speeds, temperatures, and energy loadings. This is a low working range compound.

P Zero™ Orange Hard. The toughest tire in Pirelli’s range is designed for the circuits that put the highest energy loadings through the tires, with fast corners or abrasive surfaces, and are often characterised by high ambient temperatures. The compound takes longer to warm up, but offers maximum durability – which frequently means that it plays a key role in race strategy. This is a high working range compound.

Cinturato™ Green Intermediate. The intermediates are the most versatile of the rain tires, dispersing approximately 25 litres of water per second at full speed. They can be used on a wet as well as a drying track.

Cinturato™ Blue Wet. The full wet tyres can disperse up to 65 litres of water per second at full speed, making them the most effective solution for heavy rain. The latest evolutions of the Cinturato Blue mean that it is also effective on a drying track, with increased durability. The result of this intensive work on the rain tire is increased driveability in a wide variety of conditions.

Good. I'm glad they are aware of it then. Hopefully it gets addressed.

At first I thought it was just a freak thing, and I was going to end up with a failure. I was driving a Williams at the time, so thought it was just because they weren't one of the high end teams. Then when it happened the very next race again, I started to get suspicious. The third time, I saw it go from 4th gear, down to 2nd and just rev itself to death, and I figured it's got to be a bug of some sort.

I can't deal with the official forums at Codies. I was there prior to release looking for some information and it was a madhouse. I was contemplating going there about this issue, but I'm glad I don't have to now. I'm enjoying the game, I'd rather not read rant after rant about other issues that I haven't noticed. It will just ultimately ruin my enjoyment.

I'm not sure what the pit assist actually does but i have it set to off and the computer keeps me at the pit speed limit automatically. The whole process of pitting is completely automated even with the assist set to off. Maybe try turning off the pit assist to see if you still have that issue when exiting pit lane

The Codies F1 forum made me very thankful for the way things are moderated here at Operation Sports. The codies forum literally seems like a bunch of screaming babies with no parent in sight.

I turned off pit assist. While it still controls your speed in the pit lane, once you leave pit lane it gives you back control... BUT you still have to drive below the merge line yourself until you are clear of it to return to the track. With pit assist on, it controls the car for you until you are past the merge line. Kind of pointless really. That being said, with pit assist off, I was cruising below the line in 4th gear, and suddenly my car dropped to second gear, and over revved the engine. So it didnt really help.

After playing both Driveclub & PCARS, I think this game is fantastic. I was getting an itch to play with F1 cars and the last F1 game I played was 2012. I didn't really think the graphics were all that great at first, but then I went back to the PS3 to play 2012 and the difference is enormous.

After playing a few sessions in Medium difficulty I had to switch it to Hard because I was winning too easily. Now I'm getting lapped by the end of the race and ending up in 10th position. I have a lot to learn in terms of basic car/racing mechanics, but the game is so good imo that I'm willing to take the time to learn.

The only complaint I have so far is that I wish that the engineer's voice was louder. I even turned on the subtitles to hear what he was saying, but all that did was create chaos because of distraction. I even tried playing with headphones, but even that didn't seem to work.
