Cool, I have a habit of logging in during non-peak times, so that may explain why I don't see many people online anymore. Of course, the "players logged in" stat could be deceiving and not actually count people that are in races(?). Either way, it would be cool if the level of online participation for N05 was closer to PGR2, then say Indy Car 2005

I think it is time to update the wish list thread...

Let's setup a time to race. Terry I'm guessing you're down for it almost any time.

I'm good after 9pm most nights, although last night I made the mistake of laying down after putting the kids to bed at 8... ended up sleeping through.

Looks like the rankings have returned to XBL. It also appears that Auto Zone's advertising deal for XBL expired, as the Auto Zone lobbies have been removed as well.

It is 2:47 PST (5:47 EST) and there are 15 players logged into XBL as I write this. I have a suspicion that the "players online" stat doesn't include people currently in races, at least I hope it doesn't.

                Assassin:

I'm not so sure, man. I was online last night around 10:45 p.m. (EDT), and there weren't many people racing or playing host to races.

That really befuddles me, considering the popularity of NASCAR and of this game series.

It's possible that the EA's Live interface for this game -- the worst I've ever seen in ANY game, hands down -- is turning off a lot of people. I know I've said to myself more than once, "Good thing the online races are fun and the offline modes are so damn good, because this Live interface is a f*cking drag."

Agreed, the Live interface is so very very bad...finding a race that matches your tastes is damn near impossible. The trick really seems to be to find a group of people that race clean and like variety (not Tally and Daytona all the time), add them to your friends list, and race with them exclusively. Could it be that the interface is so bad that most players resort to using Quick Race? That can't be fun, unless you like racing at Talladega all day (boooring).

Oh, and although the rankings appear to be back, they don't seem to be getting updated at all...go figure.
