    OSFC- Texas 500

Better watch out Kenseth, or you're gonna have to deal with Logano's dad.

3 races are left in the season

    Texas is next

Once again, if you have any questions, feel free to post here. Cause I'm sure I forgot something

I'm gonna borrow this from Mike,

Pick the amount of cars based on the place you are picking, if you pick 2nd pick 2 cars, 5th 5 cars, and so on.

Place the driver who you want the most at the top, 2nd most 2nd, and so on until you fill the list based on how many you need.

As I gather the list I will mark off cars from your list that have been taken. I will then take the driver who is highest on your list, that is left.

Please send me a PM with your picks. We are all members here at OS, and it's much easier to deal with it all in one place.

If I mess up, please let me know ASAP.

Please don't submit your picks on this thread, unless you want everyone in front of you to know who you really want.

Finally, don't forget to have fun

Kenseth suspended 2 races. Doesn't say anything about points penalties though.

NASCAR Penalizes Kenseth, Patrick After Martinsville

Daytona Beach, Florida (November 3, 2015) -- Matt Kenseth , the driver of the No. 20 car, has been penalized for an infraction that occurred during the Nov. 1 race at Martinsville Speedway. This is a Behavioral Penalty (Sections 12.1, 12.8). Kenseth has been suspended from NASCAR through the completion of the next two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship events and placed on NASCAR probation for a six-month period following issuance of the penalty notice.

"Based upon our extensive review, we have concluded that the No. 20 car driver, who is no longer in the Chase, intentionally wrecked the No. 22 car driver, a Chase-eligible competitor who was leading the race at the time,"said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer. "The No. 20 car was nine laps down, and eliminated the No. 22 car's opportunity to continue to compete in the race.

          Re: OSFC- Texas 500

I am getting overly frustrated with professional sports these days for giving into the PC crowd. I'm not going to rehash my rant from the previous thread, but I don't want to hear NASCAR brass complain when their viewership continues to decline because there is no emotion or personality in the sport. One thing is for sure JR is closer to the end than the beginning or middle, and there is not anyone in line to take over the Earnhardt name, so nascar better figure themselves out quick before he retires along with Gordon, Stewart, and Johnson. Again not saying it's cool for a driver to intentionally try to hurt another driver, but the way NASCAR is now, the Yarborough/Allison incident would have never have happened because the drivers would have been suspended for half the season.

Yea, my friend was saying the same about Earnhardt and Labonte at Bristol. That happened now, Earnhardt is probably at least put on probation for it. Still can't believe Harvick got away with what he did last week. I get Kenseth because that was clearly intentional, and he's probably not afraid to say it was, but what Harvick did is just ridiculous.

I agree 100% as it's racing and Nascar needs to stop messing with the sport.

With that said, you are suspended for the next two races j/k

Lol even without any point deduction, kenseth's finish took me out of contention anyway.

France said Logano spinning out Kenseth at Kansas was "quintessential NASCAR".

France should also know that Kenseth putting Logano into the wall at Martinsville is "quintessential NASCAR".

NASCAR suspended Kenseth because he was essentially manipulating the Chase standings. I'm sorry, but isn't that was Harvick did at Talladega? He intentionally caused a wreck to preserve his spot in the chase. Isn't that was Logano did to Kenseth at Kansas? He wrecked a major competitor to damage his chances of advancing in the chase and improve his chances at a title.

The hypocrisy of NASCAR knows no bounds.

The rational behind the suspension being manipulation of chase standings is definitely amazing. Even if Harvick had no intentions of wrecking anyone (yes we know better) the minimal fact is that he knowingly stayed on the track in a car that could not even do the minimal required speed. How is just the minimal fact of that not manipulating the outcome? Does NASCAR own part of that for not issuing a black flag? Of course, but so does Harvick.

I think both of the highlighted sections are why I just don't care about NASCAR anymore. I think what has become "quintessential NASCAR" is so far from what I grew up on that it just is no longer appealing in anyway. The cars all seem to be cookie cutter templates of each other and equality seems to be the measurement of the day. There is no more STOCK in STOCK car racing.

With the new "playoff" format and restriction on all makes and models, I really believe we will never see the likes of Petty, Yarborough, Baker, Earnhardt ever again. It has become, in my opinion only of course, a watered down bland version of itself that just doesn't appeal to me.

I don't fault anybody for being a fan, I had been a fan since I was 5 and saw Budy Baker Racing in his Dodge Daytona. But I am done. My love for the sport has dwindled more and more each year and this is the second year that I have not even watched a race. It is just time to move on.

I'll keep watching. The engineer in me would like to get into racing. The redneck in me still likes going to the track. I'm more interested now than I was in the late 2000's when Jimmie Johnson was winning the chase every year. I got into racing right at the end of the old format and I think the chase was one of the dumbest things they did. I get why they did it, but people tuned in during the 90's and you didn't need a playoff of some sort. It's a joke that you can do ok races 1-26 and get into the chase, do great race 1-6, but have someone wreck you or have a couple bad weeks in race 7-9 and you won't be contending for a championship. I don't know. I just think it's a mess. I love watching old races from the late 80's and 90's on youtube I used to do that for hours when I was a grad assistant. Work on some code and have a race going in the background. There are very few races in this era I'd do that for.

LOL I do that with old Baseball games, but add the 70's in there.
