    "Zero-Player" Racing Games?

For those unaware, a zero-player game is named as it is because ideally, there are no actual players involved. In football video games, you can watch two teams play, even your own dynasty/franchise team. In basketball and baseball, same thing.... You get the idea....

My question, are there any racing games I could like download on computer that either just let me set up and watch races? Could be NASCAR or anything else too. Is there a game where a career mode can be pursued through zero-player gaming?

Thanks for the reply. I'll look at it.

With rFactor (Haven't tried rFactor 2, but I imagine it is the same) and NR2003 you can essentially do a zero player game. Both you will have to enter as a player but you don't have to do anything and the race will start without you if you choose to do so.

Cool. Is there any way I can get my "player" involved in a career? Otherwise it sounds like I'd just have to watch the rest of the pack race, which would be okay too, lol.

Those games have a editor for driver ratings and what not. You create a guy and have him compete and then just select your car as some random useless car.

rFactor has a control where the AI will drive your car as well.

Project cars allows you to set up races and watch them. I've watched a few while eating dinner. lol

So I got NR2003, been having fun with that. I'll tell you all, I'm not a huge fan of any specific type of race or racer, I just like watching the cars zip around the tracks...the competition and amount of patience involved....for a driver yes, but for a spectator too, haha.

But as for the game, it's fun. Things feel...I guess how I'd expect a real race could go. Started watching race 1 of championship mode, Daytona 500. Set the practices to 5 minutes, set the full race length (not going to waste time watching practice, but want to "give them time"). As expected, races at ful take long to watch. I had to accelerate through the rest of the Daytona 500 tonight (had other plans), but saw some good racing and costly wrecks...namely, something that led to the race ending on a yellow flag pace-lap.... Just though I'd share, hah.

Go into Solo race, set it up the way you want it. Car, track, laps, weather, time of day, time change and so on. Then start the race , once it shows the cars at the start line, pause the game and select Simulate Remainder of Session, then select Spectate and you can watch the whole race. Use the change view button to get to the TV Broadcast camera and it will look as if you are watching a race on TV.
