Re: Anyone get Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2?
Just got this game today and I have to say that it is the best arcade style racer I have ever played in my life bar none. I am talking about the PS2 version. I had a chance to sample the Xbox version at Gamestop and it was very slow compared to the PS2 version. This game has great graphics, a fast as hell engine, and is just a full-on blast to play. It seems pretty deep as far as unlockables are concerned as well. I would highly recommend the PS2 version of this game to any fan of arcade racers or any fan of the first Hot Pursuit for the PS1. The sense of speed is just amazing.Comment

It's a ton of fun to play, especially since I haven't played many racing games lately. I haven't played Gran Tourismo 3 much, but this game you can pick up and not be too frustrated with the controls.
It's a great arcade racing game, best I've played in a while. Who wouldn't like having the cops chasing you around trying to bust you? Racing Sim fans would probably enjoy this game, but it's not in Gran Tourismo's league, and I think that's a good thing.
The graphics seem great, and I really like the damage that shows up on the cars, really realistic. Granted you don't lose car performance, but that would take some of the fun away, and this game is about fun and not complete realism that can get you pissed off easily.
By the way, I have the PS2 version, don't know about the other ones at allNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Anyone get Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2?
As a fan of the NFS series, I had the latest edition on preorder for a while now. I did have the GC version (wanted a racer for this system) on order, but reports (IGN/EGM/etc) started coming in that said the PS2 version was the best. So I changed my preorder; the game arrived while I was on vacation, so I have only had a few hours of playtime.
Can anyone confirm slowdown issues with the GC and Xbox versions? Are the issues minor, or do they actually cause serious gameplay issues? Do the ports look just as good, or did EA do a poor job all around?
The PS2 version is a blast. I have yet to see any slowdown, and the graphics engine is solid. The game is a blast is you are looking for a hybrid arcade/sim racer. I can never get enough NFS, and this version should last a while with all the cars, tracks, and various modes. The cops are damn intelligent, and will work pretty hard to stop you; it is also balls out fun (so far anyway) being the cop. At first glance it looks like NFS2 will have tons of replay value.
I was pretty surprised at the replays - (at least in the Quick Race modes) you get full race replays and they look great; I would say pretty close to GT3. The attention to detail is pretty nice - I though it was pretty cool to see fire trucks putting out a nasty looking fire on one of the initial courses. The flash bomb things that the helicopters drop also produces some wicked looking fire/explosions.
So far, so good. I have not played Burn Out 2 yet, but that is sure to be the game most compared with NFS2. BO2 may be great, but I cannot see anyone going wrong with NFS2. Too many games, and not enough time or money!jcalvert

Well if the XBOX version is "slower" and did not receive the same amount of attention then NO SALE. I'm really sick of the PS2 ports. Of course it is EA...same ole same ole...Joshua:
