    If I like Burnout 3, will I like NFSU2?

Just curious. I've never been a huge racing fan, but I love Burnout 3. For those that have NFSU2, do you think I would like it? It looks interesting, but I get easily bored of the racing games like GT3 where you have to participate in hour long races.

    It's a toss up, I enjoyed Burnout 3 a lot....mainly b/c of the crashes

I just started playing NFSU 2...and more features from Burnout should have been incorporated into this one...IE: Custom Soundtracks, voice-overs (what is the deal with how these people talk in this game...should boycott )

But yeah, its like Burnout 3 w/ customization, faster cars, and Brooke Burke...can't go wrong with that

Re: If I like Burnout 3, will I like NFSU2?

The races in NFSU2 are short and crisp.. Generally no longer than 6-8 minutes, and those are considered long.

This game is amazing. I bought and enjoyed Burnout 3, but NFSU2 is a superior game IMO. There is a lot more to do, and I personally love tweaking out my car.

NFSU2 is an arcade racer and doesn't try to be a sim, so in a way it's like Burnout 3. I highly recommend it, because aside from it being amazingly customizable, it also is powered by an impressive racing engine.

I have absolutely no complaints with the game.. I didn't have complaints with Burnout 3 either, but I've since sold it and moved on. I don't see me losing interest in NFSU2 for a long time, primarily because it is so customizable, so big (length wise), and so fun..

If you are on the fence, I recommend renting it, but if you liked Burnout 3, you will probably like Need for Speed. They are both arcade racers, with the key difference being that NFS uses real cars, real brands, and is customizable in ways I've never experienced prior to playing it. It's easily the best racing game I've ever played, and I don't say that every time a new game comes out.. I have however always loved the Need for Speed games, and thankfully this one impresses like the others.

        Take care.

The control is a little tighter in NFSU2, thers much less of the crazy drifting you could do in Burnout. Crashes and collisions were much better in BO3, as well...the NFSU cars take no damage.

Burnout is arcade racing at its absolute finest, whereas NFSU feels like Gran Turismo's bratty "tuner-nut" of a little brother. The main selling points for NFSU are the immersiveness of the city and its races, and the depth of the customization. Its sick.

Both are great, I'd give an edge to NFSU2, if only for the depth.

Thanks for the impressions everyone. I think I'm going to get Ghost Recon 2 now and ask for NFSU2 for Christmas.

I think licensing issues had something to do with the cars not taking damage in NFSU2.

Personally, I love the fact cars don't take damage.

If they did, the game wouldn't be fun IMO. It's an arcadey game, and I would total my car just driving to the various events..

Also, for EA to accurately model damage for every single accesory and kit would likely be way too much work, and thus likely result in a poor damage engine. Therefore, I'd rather take no damage, than a poorly implemented damage model.

I don't think damage would work in the game IMO; especially considering the cars change so much as you progress through the game.. And I like how the game allows me to be careless and stay competetive without having to worry about throwing off my suspension.

Just my take though, I'm sure there are others that disagree completely.

Its not a big deal at all, and it doesn't take away from this freakin' sweet-*** game...I just thought it would be a slick addition to the tuning aspect, if you had to spend money to fix your ride also. Imagine the possibility of totaling your ride! That would add a slick, risk/reward component to the races...Would you still try every narrow alley short-cut at the risk wiping out?
