Is it me or is that a little underwhelming? Colours looks drab & the lighting a bit flat.

The key question surrounding this game is whether the console versions will be optimized for controllers, like Forza always has been.

Project Cars was a PC game ported to consoles, designed for wheels only. The arrogant development team at Slightly Mad simply pushed the same game to consoles, with zero regard for the unique challenges of using a controller. The default controller settings for the XB1 version of PCars were utter trash, and it took far too much time to tweak to get something even serviceable.

If Slightly Mad lowers itself to create a game designed for us controller-using peasants (and for the vast majority of racing gamers on consoles), then PCars 2 could be special.

Watched a video where they explained how the new tire model they are using has greatly Improved the interaction with the controller.

Also saw some people playing and it with controller and it looked much better.

I picked this over forza 7 this year for my Xbox X because I love the race car aspect this game brings above forzas more sterile game play. Even though forza 7 has a lot more feel and interaction this year, and the X graphics are just jaw dropping.

But allegedly this will also be 4k with HDR on xbx X. Also forza has not actually confirmed dynamic time of day more settings, whereas PC2 will have proper 24 hours and 365 seasonal weather

Well, we know the driving/handling model will be way deeper and more sim than F1 (as always), so with all the improvements/additions this is a must-buy for me.

I thoroughly hate the "season pass" DLC model, tho.

Sure would be nice if they improved online lobbies, last I played PC1 you couldn't do custom lobbies.

Interesting. Might have to check it out. One of big complaints I heard about pc1 is you couldn't do custom lobbies like Gran Turismo. I haven't played pc1 online for a very long time, last time I did you couldn't do hardly anything for online lobbies.

That was also a big complaint for a assetto corsa

Edit - after some reading it really looks like online lobbies for ps4 are terrible. I guess you can "customize " some of it, but the lobbies are nothing like the GT games

1 day and 16 hours until it's playable. I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas. I love the first PC game so my expectations are high for this one.

I'll be getting out of bed around 4:00am to play for 4 hours before I leave for work on Friday. I'll be here with some impressions.

What do you mean by customize? In Project Cars 1 you can set up an online race with a lot of options. Private or public , Choose the car, or car class, number of A.I. and Human opponents, A.I. difficulty, time of day, weather, how fast time progresses , number of laps. Rolling start or not , practice and qualifying on or off, you can even have mandatory pit stops , and more.. So I'd say PC 1 has a ton of customization.

Also I'd like to mention I was playing online with friends I was the host and If i had a track that they had not purchased they could still race on it with me.
