I love an arcade racer and this didn’t even appear on my radar.

    Marketing nightmare.

Marketing team to blame not those that that make the game.

i know zero about this game so I didn’t dodge it for design reasons

From what I read online from consumers it lacked content. It was on my radar but after playing beta demo I knew I'd get bored quickly with it so I was waiting for sale or price drop.

Exactly...if they had just made an updated version of Motorstorm that would have been a purchase. But no racing, no winning...just running into people and ghost cars? Yeah, just weird.

Fair play if it’s also design issues...

But to sell only a 1000 in uk it’s a supply and marketing issue number one....

            People lap up racing games....

It is NOT a racing game. It is a smash em up total waste of time game. Poorly conceived , poorly created, total junk. Sometimes I really question what some of these developers are thinking. The first two Motorstorm games were excellent. Why can't they realize if they just gave us a true Motorstorm 3 game with out all the falling building crap , it would be a gold mine?

Exactly...completely wasted opportunity and I feel bad for all the people laid off...I bet one of those people were arguing "let's just make Motorstorm 3" when development began but they were not listened to.

I played the trial and the game had so many things going for it...great graphics, great controls, cool rider outfits, good sounds(except the cheesy announcer lady), great sense of speed, nice tracks, customizable and varied weather (including day/night AND fog!), unlockables, good collision detection and damage system, etc. And they have a nice "custom game" suite like in the last 2 Motorstorms where you can make your own custom "event."

But they should have at least given us the option to customize a normal "first to last place" race in the game where I can just race a course against other vehicles to see who comes in first place. Maybe they could patch that in and I would reconsider the game, but only at the $20 price point.

Man they missed a golden opportunity. I would love to have a true successor to Pacific Rim on current gen.

This game has no end game in terms of a winner?? Is there a scoring system at least?

Yeah, there is always a winner, but it is team based and not individual (recorded through a team-based scoring system). But even after doing the tutorials, I would still feel in the dark about what was going on sometimes, lol. There is a 1-hour trial on XB1...the game had a ton of potential but they needed a "normal" race mode in it, IMO.

Ok, thanks for explaining. I did get that one hour trial and played for about 20 minutes, game seemed a lot of fun but I didn't realize all the shortcomings you guys speak of. I had planned to buy it but now I'll wait for a sale if I'm going to buy it at all..

I bought it, but it hasn't been opened.

                        And probably never will be.
