Improvements for NASCAR 2006 Chase for the Cup
I want some feedback as I am very interested in stuff like this. I think EA Sports should improve with less fantasy drivers and more real teams and drivers plus add the R & D stuff back with able to buy out other teams cars (as in NASCAR Thunder 2002). Maybe bring back Pocono with Jeremy Mayfield and Ken Schrader. Since I am a Labonte fan, I want some Bobby Labonte Busch and Truck series to be available as well. More Paint Schemes would be necessary too plus keep on improving driving control and gameplay. No more sliding below the white/yellow line and replace that with a car whobbly noise like in real racing instead of automatic slidige. Thats my 2 cents, I want yours too.Donovan McNabb will always be better than Ben Roethlisberger no matter what happens.Tags: None -
Re: Improvements for NASCAR 2006 Chase for the Cup
- Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota trucks in the Truck Series.
- Change up the career mode. Maybe add dirt track racing to start your career off.
- Better driving control.
- More realistic drivers.
- Put Budweiser and Miller Light on JRs and Rusty's cars. Make a rated M for mature and E for everyone so I don't have to see Rusty Time on the hood or Rusty's car!!!
- More sponsors for career mode. Why would K-Mart sponsor a NASCAR car since the filed for bankrupcy(sp?)
Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
Denver Nuggets (NBA)
Green Bay Packers (NFL)
Iowa Hawkeyes (NCAA)
Minnesota Twins (MLB)
Tennessee Volunteers (NCAA) -

Re: Improvements for NASCAR 2006 Chase for the Cup
Good thread:
1. Pocono must be reinstated. The game has every Cup track except for the big triangle in the Pennsylvania woods.
2. Schrader and Mayfield must be reinstated. Mayfield was in the Chase in 2004, for crying out loud! He needs to be in there. So does Schrader, a name guy. But the Schwans car looks cool.
3. Detailed and novice setup screens. NASCAR Thunder 2000 had the basic slider bar setup screens of NASCAR 2005 and a hardcore setup mode with a lot more adjustments possible, similar to NASCAR Heat. Give the hardcore that option.
4. A hardcore sim difficulty mode. Take the driving and racing model from the more sim PC NASCAR Sim Racing game and add it as an option for the console game.
5. Tone down the Rivals portion of the Allies and Rivals feature. The Rivals feature is WAY overdone, as rivals go out of their way to bang sheet metal with you, even early in the race or when you're both fighting for 30th place. It's very unrealistic and detracts from the fun.
6. Allow more than four players to race online at once.
7. Allow players in an online race to stay in a lobby and race again at another track instead of dumping all players out to the general lobby after each race.
8. Allow online racing leagues to be set up by gamers like Sega did with ESPN NFL 2K5 football.
9. Reinstate the damn cockpit view for ALL cars!
10. Allow pit stops during online races.
11. Have realistic caution rules. In NASCAR 2005, you can be the car that causes the caution, falling from 10th to 28th in the order, for example, and you're lined up in 10th on the restart. That's insane and unrealistic, even with the "no racing back to the caution" rule.
12. Allow green-white-checkered finishes, like NASCAR instituted midway through last year.
Take care,

Re: Improvements for NASCAR 2006 Chase for the Cup
I agree with most everything you have suggested PK.
I'm all for adding in more real drivers, the truck, busch and cup series rosters should be filled out as much as possible.
I would really like it if they brought back the cockpit view. I've gotten used to the roof cam, but I really miss the cockpit view, as it is my preferred view at 90% of the tracks.
They need to get rid of the autograph sessions, or give you the option of turning them off. They are downright impossible once you hit the cup series, so much so that I don't even waste my time with them anymore. Screw the fans I say!
I wouldn't be too sad to see the production cars get axed in the next version, if I wanted to race street cars, I would go play NFSU or something.
I didn't really miss Pocono, but it should definitely make a return if at all possible.
The interface for online play needs a serious overhaul. Players should have the ability to optimatch based all available settings, especially difficulty, assists, player ranking, track, series, etc. I would certainly like to have the number of online players increased above 4, even if that means that you have to cut back the AI cars. I never been a big fan of EA's online lobby system, a matchmaking system similar to Toca 2 or PGR 2 would be a nice upgrade IMO. Additionally, being forced back thru the matchmaking system after each race is inexcusable. There is nothing more annoying than having to scramble together a new session with your friends after each race, again a system similar to Toca or PGR would be appropriate here.
I would also like to see a greater depth of features in online play, leagues and special tournaments would be a welcome addition. Being able to run mini-championships at the various tracks would be fun, like a plate tourney, short track tourney, road course tourney, D-oval tourney, etc...
I think it would be neat if they implmented a silly season in the Fight to the top mode, with some drivers changing teams mid-season, getting fired, etc. I would also like to be able to change teams mid-season, I figure I'm getting all of those test sessions and contract offers for a reason, let me go!
Having a "hardcore" option would be nice, but probably a longshot considering that EA is targeting sim-racers with the PC version. Peace.Comment
