Apparently this patch was supposed to fix the Xbox Series X issues with overheating and crashing/powering off the console.

I played one race just now, 25% distance. Froze during the post race cutscene and shut off the console again.

I've reported it over at the Codies forums again and I've told them I want my money back, and I'm calling MS tomorrow to talk to their support side. IF this type of crash is due to overheating I'll be demanding a new console from them, EA or Codemasters. I'm done with these guys, one month in and I can't play a single race without it powering off my system, and I'm not the only one. Codemasters still won't acknowledge the problem and advise Xbox uses either. What an absolute joke they've become.

Let us know if you get a refund. I think your Series X is fine so don’t worry. If other games start causing your XBOX to shutdown after 25 mins then it might be a problem but your Series X shutting down consistently is F1 2021 related. In fact that’s what the console is supposed to do when it overheats.

I chatted with MS support about it yesterday. They showed me the message I would get when i turn it back on if it was overheating related. I've never seen that message before so they believe it's a software issue. They had me delete and reinstall the game thinking it was corrupted data. Didn't help. The Codies forums are filled with other people with the same issue. Some get overheating messages, some dont.

Either way, this game is just a complete mess. I've got a 6 or 7 page tech support thread from codemasters forums filled with complaints and the team over there acknowledging the issue. I'm not concerned about getting the refund; I think I've got more than enough proof and reason as to why they should. Seems like there's some activity and communication from Codies today on the matter, so we'll see where it goes over the next few days, but this patch seems to have made the issue far worse.

Im gonna wait until 1) The new tracks are added, and 2) they fix the glitch that ends a race early and randomly places a couple cars a lap or more down.

Ex. My Driver Career race, F2 Feature race in Spain. Race ended after 34 laps instead of 37. Tsunoda - Mick - Me were running top 3. Race ends, me and Mick are classified as 3 laps down and finish in 18th and 17th.
