Nascar 21 Iginition post Jun 23 patch - is it better than Nascar 5 Heat

I enjoyed Nascar 5 Heat (all be it, it was a bit easy to win) but was fun to play.

Now that I have seen Nascar 21 Ignition out with a patch on Jun 23rd, was wondering if this game is on the level of Nascar 5 or better now.

I know Nascar 21 Ignition was extremely buggy and somewhat unpllayable so I sat on the sidlines to see if the developers have fixed it.

For those that play it, what are your thought now after the Jan 23 patch.
Is the system car placement after a yellow flag correct.
Is the AI competant to some degree and try and blcok you if you pass or to they just drive a straight line no matter what is in front of them.

    Any other thoughts....

This game will never be better than Heat 5, it’s not even close. They could fix every bug and the games still bare bones.

Even after the June update, NASCAR 21: Ignition is still well behind NASCAR HEAT 5. Ignition is not going to have a chance until it has a rear view mirror and a user interface that doesn't require the controller for some functions when driving with a steering wheel. It's a complete game killer when you controller times out, which then also knocks the steering wheel out of the game. You'll crash well before you can recover the controller and it's "game over".

Motorsports is supposedly working on an update for September which will add a rear view mirror to the game AND add a new front end User Interface. Hopefully, this new interface will allow the steering wheel to handle all of the in race commands with no need for a controller to be synced up also.

If they really want to put themselves ahead of NASCAR HEAT 5, they need to provide an option for setting the vsync at 60 Hz so the game can be run at 60 FPS on the Series X and PS5! I can't believe wasn't running at 60 FPS at launch.!?

If they want to beat Heat 5, they need….the Lower 2 series, actual career mode, custom season, a total new Ai system that’s at least on par with heat 5, a way to turn off spotter text, mirrors, gas gauge, track map, textures loading on time, and so so so much more. I don’t believe any MS Games product will ever reach best 5. And 5 wasn’t even that special.

NASCAR HEAT 5 would be my game if it had an option to run at 60 FPS and more tuning options for force feedback steering wheels. One thing NASCAR 21: Ignition does better than NASCAR HEAT 5 is with the feel of the force feedback. Even though there's no in-game steering wheel tuning in Ignition, what it defaults to is pretty sweet. However, I have to change the steering range on my Thrustmaster TX, to either 540 to 920 deg, depending on the track, to help with the feel. That's done with the pressing of two buttons on the steering wheel itself, so it's not that big of a hassle. Still, I'd like to have more tuning options for force feedback steering wheels in Ignition, as there are parameters I could change that would make it better.

I know it wasn’t built off the best engine, but the heat games had so much potential. Like especially to add a ton of content like the old ea games. But, like every NASCAR series, eventually it’s scrapped and we are back to square one again.

Now Heat 5 may be getting 2022 DLC also.

The publisher's CEO Dmitry Kozko has hinted that an older NASCAR Heat title may receive 2022-season DLC alongside Heat Mobile, NASCAR 21: Ignition and a new Switch game.

That's a surprise to say the least! Is there still enough demand among NASCAR HEAT 5 players to warrant more DLC at this point?

I gotta ask... I have NASCAR HEAT 4 for my PC, which is okay. Does NASCAR HEAT 5 play better enough to justify a purchase? I can't get it for $15 on Steam, but I get the impression that it's just NASCAR HEAT 4 with new skins.

I did a poll on Reddit of who would buy 2022 dlc for ignition… almost nobody voted yes.

Did the same for heat 5, overwhelmingly voted that they would buy it for heat 5.

If they want money, they will do it on heat 5 also.

I just want Motorsport to bring NASCAR 21: Ignition up to 2021 gaming standards. I'd have voted "No" to DLC for Ignition myself. Do you like NASCAR HEAT 5 more than 4?

The thing Heat 5 has over 4 is custom season mode I believe and Indy road course.

But yes, I prefer heat 4 and 5 over ignition any day.

Amazing! I'd have not expected something like this. I may eventually cave and buy NASCAR HEAT 5 for my PC. If 5 is anything like 4 on the PC, I'll at least be able to configure it to run at 60 FPS. Thanks for posting the news on this!
