Yeah I can't find a way either. Pretty annoying I have to see Celsius and kilometers. Finally was able to play again. Finished 17th and 18th with Vettel and Stroll lol. What a long season ahead. Developing a new front wing and suspension now. Pretty fun so far, enjoying the challenge. I'll probably start one with Ferrari, my favorite team eventually to see if I can win with them.

Well after a couple days of playing now overall it's not bad. Biggest complaint is damaged model about zero. Car hits wall head on and loses a piece of its front wing and that's it if they spin out they slide 10 ft and stop. Really hope this is being worked on for a patch. Still can't find a form that the developers may actually be looking at it

Figured out how to control practice sessions and achieve really high setup confidence now. Started a Ferrari career. Sainz had a gearbox failure in P2 in Saudi, then crashed out in P3 lol. Still was able to get him to 94% confidence. Just a bit low on track acclimation from not running enough laps.

First two races Leclerc has won with Verstappen and Sainz finishing 2nd and 3rd. Quite different from Aston Martin. Fun to manage a couple wins out the gate. Had to build some spare parts from Sainz incident. Really spent too much money early stages I think. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bit me later in the season.

Definitely enjoying this game. I've finally got a handle on managing the ERS better and got KMag his first points finish at Imola. It would've been a double points finish but Mick broke the front wing during his second stint.

They really have to make tire compounds matter. Getting ready to race at Saudi Arabia with Aston Martin and the hard tires are showing a faster average lap time than mediums. Also, the softs are hardly any faster. Maybe it's just the track? But man this really needs worked on. In a race it is noticeable as well with everyone passing each other back n forth on different compounds. Driver ratings play too much of a factor over the car and tires.

This and the ability to change stuff to Fahrenheit and miles per hour would make the game 100× better. Overall still very good game, especially for a first year build. Hopefully some patches can fix the tire compound problem. Doubtful they can add in a whole new metric system.

That might be a track-specific thing. No team used a set of soft tires during the Saudi GP and the hards were faster than the mediums.

I'm wondering if the F1 organization has a say on the amount of damage EA/Codemasters can display in game on the car models. I have heard other driving games have had restrictions put on them in the past in regards to car damage on certain cars/brands. I can't recall this F1 series ever having a really detailed damage model. If only "Burnout" developers and "F1" developers were to work together on proper car damage(Or if F1 organization would give them some freedom in that regard)..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Perfection would be the BeamNG damage model

Unfortunately it's not track specific. Tires are a big problem in this game. Not nearly enough difference in performance and degradation has minimal effect. The best strategy is always a one stop using mediums and hards.

This is what I am finding as well. Never would need softs for a race. I think another culprit to lap times not being effected enough by tire wear is the fuel load. Fuel load I am thinking may effect lap times a bit too much, while tire degradation not enough. The combination of them both is causing what we are seeing. Medium to hards every race shouldn't be the strategy for every track and race.

Patch 1.06 today. But nothing fixed that I was hoping for.

Yeah I’m not seeing this at all. This game is extremely detailed and takes simulation very seriously. I think the problem is that you’ve only probably done a handful of race weekends thus far. For starters compounds change every week, sometimes you’ll have C1-C3, sometimes C3-C5. So the “soft” tire isn’t always the same tire every week. Also different tracks, effect tires completely different. Some tracks are really tough on the softs and therefore doesn’t make them a viable race tire, some tracks aren’t as harsh. In that same vein, some tracks will be scorching hot while others will be nice and cool. There are so many different factors that go into how the tire is performing, it’s not as cut and dry as medium should always be 0.5 quicker than the hard. Two stops are also very very viable if you’re in clean air and can really push the tires. One last thing, when on track if you click the telemetry box on the bottom right, where your drivers options are, it will show you your speed in KPH, as well as MPH. Same with the tires, if you click on them you can see the temps in Fahrenheit.
