    Help with 1080i in GT4

I have a 4:3 t.v that supports 1080i. When I enable it, I get black bars on the top and bottom. Is this normal? Thanks!!!

Someone on another forum posted a pic of GT4 on a 4:3 t.v in 1080i in full screen. So basically, there is no way to get 1080i in full screen on a regular t.v? Thanks again.

No, there is no way I know of to enable 1080i full screen on a 4X3 screen. Time to ditch the 4X3 screen!!

Perhaps that person was either lying or thier TV allows "stretching" even with high def and progressive scan sources, though this is rare. Also I do not know what it would help but there are also settings in the PS2 menu, but most likely the person was either lying, or their tv will stretch HD inputs, though most will not.
I must say however as excited as I was for this 1080i support I am not as blown away as I had hoped. Don't get me wrong, the cars and environments look better than probably any PS2 game before it, but the stinking jaggies that is inherent with the PS2 is a killer.
