stupid racing question
I really enjoy road courses but I find it boring when it's done by open wheel cars. Is there some kind of racing league that does road courses in stock cars or something similar?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: stupid racing question
Sure look into American LeMans or Grand Am Series. Both of these series has plenty of full fendered cars to follow. BTW what is that you find boring about open wheel cars? I really enjoyed the F! race last night.Team Tonis Kasemets

Re: stupid racing question
F1 racing is far too predictable IMO. The races also seem to drag on and on for the most part. I like a bit of unpredictability.
Let me guess Schumacher won last night?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: stupid racing question
While not exactly like stock cars (excluding the similar V8s), there are quite a few racing leagues that goes on running high performance sports cars and prototypes and such on road courses. There is a German Touring Cars League and European Touring Car League for starters. Then there's a European Le Mans Series and American Le Mans series. There's a Porsche Super Cars league running 911s, plus there's a league running strictly Ferrari 360 Modenas. There are racing series running in America like the Speedvison's own Touring Car series that runs BMWs and some other comparable types of high performance cars. And don't forget the V8 Supercars league over in Australia as well.

Let me guess Schumacher won last night? No he didn't even finish the race. He crashed out with Nick Heidfeld.

Re: stupid racing question
Sportsman:
You'd love touring car racing, such as Australian V8 Supercars, the British Touring Car Championship or the DTM in Germany. But sadly, touring car racing is barely a blip on the North American racing scene.
Otherwise, I think you'd enjoy the American Le Mans Series or the Grand-Am Series, as JCollins suggested. Both have a nice mix of prototype and street-based sports cars and race on a nice variety of street and road circuits.
The Trans-Am series in the U.S. was phenomenal in the 80s and early 90s but has tailed off in the last 10 years. Those are still very cool road races in cars that are basically high-tech stock cars.
Take care,
