    Project Gotham Rocks...

I know, I know, the game IS a year old. But considering I have only had an XBox for 1 week, I am amazed at not only how fun this game is to play, but that it visually stands up to Sega GT 2002 and any other racer pretty well.

It gets me pretty excited for Project Gotham 2 comingi n a few months...

Yep, it's a great game. Still gets some playtime in my Xbox from time to time.

      Brendan:

Spot-on, bro. I still play Project Gotham quite often. In fact, I'm selling Sega GT 2002 because I think it pales compared to PGR.

Sega GT 2002 essentially becomes a car-collecting game once you can buy the all-conquering Ford GT 40 Concept car. That car is virtually unbeatable, ruining the game.

Plus the course design in Sega GT 2002 sucks. The natural circuits lack fast corners and are riddled with chicanes and angular first- and second-gear corners.

Maybe I'll pick up Sega GT 2002 if the rumored add-on disc including online play is released.

      Take care,
      PK

          LOL!

Yeah, Terry, just guessing, but I've probably played around 100 console racing games, with my list of greats reaching around 10 to 15, tops.

There are so many sh*tty console racing games if you want realism that it's not funny. There are a ton of sh*tty console racing games if you want arcade thrills, too!

          Take care,

Yeah man, I know what you mean.

I just tried out that Hot Pursuit 2 after hearing so many people talk about it. I turned it off after about 20 minutes and went back to Nascar 2002 on my PC.

              Terry:

I don't have a PS2, but Hot Pursuit 2 SUCKED on the Xbox. Lousy sense of speed, mediocre graphics, dodgy car handling model.

Somehow I knew you'd say that

I was playing it on PC, not much better.

Not a racing guy, but I really liked Project Gotham, logged more time with that than any other racing game i have owned.

Sega GT is OK but tends to get boring after awhile.

Give yourself credit: You're more of a racing guy than you think. Your impressions of both games are spot-on.

Cookie is pretty good about any game. Racing, basketball, doesn't matter.

I just have to get him to give me some baseball advice someday so I can get half a clue in that. I love my football and racing, but most other sports I'm absolutely clueless.

I like racing games if I don't have to think too much about, gear ratio's and suspension and that kind of stuff. If it is about knowing the track and how the car handles then I like it. Plus good music like in Project Gotham doesn't hurt.

definitely one of the better racing games to get if you dont want to put too much time in on. i like it alot because i can just put it in and play for a little while without worrying too much about all the details that lots of other racing games have.

i liked project gotham a lot better than GT3, which came off to me as the same thing as the first games designed for PS1. So it's one of my all-time favorite racers. The amoount of variety is amazing, the challenge factor extremely high, and the soundtrack is the best and most current for the times I've ever heard. The graphics also do a lot of things well.

                              Bargain Alert -

I picked PG up at Target (including a mini strategy guide) for $14.99. I had it when it was released, then had traded it in at EB. I ended up missing it a lot. Fun driving, but with challenge.

And the AI is insane - I love it. They ram you just as often as any human player does.
