    Question for PK

    Hey PK,

I want to go the F1 US Gran Prix. I was pricing tickets and it looks like they are $100+. Can you give me a good location for seating at the race?

    Thanks,
    Ken

I went last year and will go again this year ( I LOVED IT) The guy I go with has had his tickets since the innagural. So, I pay about $80 and we have fairly good seats IMO. We sit along the front straight right where the overhang ends b4 turn 1. We are in the shade and can see a good bit of the first 3-4 corners. I do know this, across from us (pit lane side) was BARE last year. I know the seats are probably not worth a poop, but they can't be very expensive. For me the atmosphere and just seeing and HEARING the cars would be well worth a cheap price!!

        Tal:

The stands where you'll see the most overtaking, in my opinion:

        H (probably sold out)
        J (probably sold out)
        Corner 6 Terrace
        Corner 10 Terrace
        C
        G
        Southeast Vista

Glad you're going! It's a great experience. I'd love to step out of the Media Center for a few minutes and meet you and Wilson very early on Race Morning, if possible.

        Take care,
        PK

no doubt man, I forgot I read somewhere you worked there. I have no clue where we sit, but I described it above LOL. I looked at the chart from the above link....looks like we may have seats on the left edge of C maybe. Or somewhere in H, we set under a handover is all I know, I will have to break out my ticket from last year. I HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone who loves ANY form of racing.

            Thanks guys.

I think I am going to book stand G. Looks good from the course map.

Be cool to meet. When time gets closer lets plan a short hello.

If Scott Speed was to step into that Red Bull car for this race I would do everything possible to go. I think he will be there next year for sure though!

Sadly, the FIA's revision of the third driver rule, allowing Klien in as third driver while Liuzzi takes the race seat, probably will keep Speed out of the car at Indy, even as a Friday test driver.

But we're really trying to push Red Bull hard to get Speed in the seat sometime during the USGP weekend, even during a demonstration run. The FIA allowed Sarah Fisher to take a demonstration run in the McLaren two years ago due to her TAG Heuer sponsorship, so a precedent has been set to allow someone other than the designated test driver into the seat for commercial purposes.

Here's to hoping! And here's to Scott Speed kicking azz in GP2 this year so he can get a full-time F1 race seat in 2006!

                Take care,
                PK

Speed will do what Mikey Andretti could not do. He will win in F1. That is no slight to Mikey though. As much as I despise him it would be real easy for me to say that he failed because he did not have the talent. Truth is Mikey made some very bad choices off the track that sealed his fate before he even turned a lap. Speed is living in Europe he knows the lifestyle and most of the tracks. The kid is going to be huge!

I agree with you 100 percent on Mikey. Living in Nazareth, Pa., and having Sandy as his constant nag didn't help much.

I sure as hell hope Speed will win, too! That would be massive.

Speed is the American Jenson Button. He has gone from obscurity to being a Formula Renault Eurocup champion and on the cusp of F1 in just two years. Very impressive.
