No Engine Sound in NSX or 360 Modena?

I can't hear the engine in the 1st person view whe I get into either of these cars, which also happen to be Mid Engine placement... Is this normal?? It only happens in 1st person camera view; if I race 3rd person, I can hear it fine. Not even a dull sound, I'm talking dead quiet. Just tires and radio. Anyone else experience this?

This is why I have trouble with my NSX (well, that and I stink at driving it!) It is because it is mid-engine, and if you have a dolby surround setup the engine noise will come from the back speakers, however on my setup the engine noise is VERY low, and it makes it difficult to hear when to shift. I know it does make noise, as I hear it when tuning my car and it's just me on the track. But with other traffic, forget it.

Thanks. Do you have a Dolby setup? It it louder with the Surround sound or is it really quiet regardless?
