Did these games have NPCs or were you just skating solo in a barren world?   Also will the new game have couch co-op?  Thanks.

I'm trying to think hard through every level from 1 and 2. On the whole there defintely were not NPCs, but maybe in a map or two there was? But I think mostly no.

There will be "co-op" in the sense that everything from the originals is being brought over, but every multiplayer mode I remember from THPS 2 except free skate (you both just mess around in a level together) pitted you against each other in split-screen.

In the remasters you’ll be able to play locally and online. I do not know if that means they will include modes like King of the Hill and Graffiti, though. I also don't know if that means they'll include any new multiplayer options either.

Thanks man I appreciate the response.   My personal favorite is still THUG 2.

I believe the only time there was a NPC in the pre-Ps2 era games was a moving vehicle, like the golf cart in High School 2 in THPS 2. Otherwise, they didn't start appearing until Pro Skater 3 on the Ps2.

My favorite THPS experience was playing split-screen Tag at the school in THPS 2 with my friend late-night (back when us kiddos did sleepovers haha).

Did anyone else ever ollie and not boneless in the process? It always got you more air than not.

Oh my god, pleaseeeee. I don't get why EA has not started remaking their EA Big titles yet, must be a licensing pain in the *** for some, but that does not apply to SSX. (Also the SSX reboot was good and deserved to keep going)

I've played many skating games throughout the years, but somehow never played this series. *ducks for flying vegetables*

Excited to have this, Skater XL, and Session coming up.

Its arcade format is a bit archaic now for me to try out. You'd be forgiven to not check it out today, but shame on you for not living some of the glory days of youth hood! Haha. I will always thank the THPS series for educating me on specific pro skaters back in the day and to some bands I still listen to today (and even get me more into skating and watching skate videos), but that's where the buck stops for me these days.

It will give casual fans a run, but since Skate has invented the right stick control and Session has nearly perfected the simulation aspect using both sticks, die-hard skaters really don't want to look elsewhere when getting their fix.

I'll sit there for a half hour trying to perfect a certain line, just to spend another fifteen minutes trying to get the right angle(s) to film it. I know casuals don't play this way, but many people in the world of skateboarding happen to. I hope Session continues on this path, because despite Skater XL's map creation and great animations, they are trending more on the path of Skate's non-simulation physics and simplicity (though they use both sticks).

yeah, times have just changed is all. I used to play THPS I think on the 360? there was a remaster i believe that I played the crap out of and got all the letters, tricks etc.

But in 2020, it wouldn't be much fun for me anymore. Some of it is my tastes changing but a lot of it is the times have changed and you can't "go home" as the saying goes.

For me this would only be a gamepass situation - I loved the games in the days of yore, but not plunking down now for it.

Yeah, this is about the time that I knew I was done with the series:

And you're right, they just did a remaster didn't they? What floundered in that attempt that they are doing it again so soon? Guess I forget how they went about doing that one.

I grew up on the Tony Hawk games. Underground 2 is still one of my all-time favorite games (even though it gets a ton of **** from the TH community), and I keep my Gamecube/PS2 hooked up so I can play it.

I really hope that this doesn't feel like TH5 or the Robomodo HD version on PS3. It didn't play like a TH game...the controls were off. And from watching the few clips they've been putting out, it looks like it's going to be similar, but slightly better. I've already got it pre-ordered of course...but I'm hoping it's something that I can actually keep playing. I still play 3,4, and THUG2 all the time.
