Has anything played around with this yet? I'm pretty sure this will be the first thing I do when my Wii comes in the mail.

I'm going to try it tonight, but when my wife and I try the forecast update, we received an error code for the net. I'm not too sure if my Wii is having internet connection issues as it was fine in the morning.Comment

However, gamers eager to try out the Forecast and Weather Channels will have to wait a bit longer. On December 20, Nintendo will launch the Forecast Channel. From this channel, users will be able to access constantly-updated local weather information. Users can also receive weather information from around the world by navigating an interactive 3-D model of the globe. Weather information is to be provided by Weathernews. Following this, on January 27, the News Channel will make headlines with the latest news from around the world provided by the Associated Press. A high-speed internet connection is required to access both the Forecast and News Channels.Comment

If you download Mario, let us know how big the file is and how much memory have you used? I'm figuring you've save several files already.

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

Saw a few videos on IGN and it does look impressive!

But i loved PW64 for its personality (island design, characters, and all its crazy flight contraptions), so a new version of that or something similar which makes good use of the Wii controllers would be right up my alley.

Hopefully Wing Island is that game cos i think seeing a new Pilotwings is a bit optimistic for now (since the N64 version was the last one, right? - no DS or Gamecube versions iirc).

Really hope to see more N64 titles on the Virtual Console as that was my first and only Nintendo home console and i don't really care about anything prior like the NES/SNES etc.

A few other faves i'd love to play again are Lylat Wars (aka Star Fox 64...although i think that was on one of the IGN lists anyway), Blast Corps and Mischief Makers.Comment

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

Nintendo should just pay whatever it is for the licensing to Goldeneye 007, make it compatible with the Wiimote, and make it available to play online.

 How AMAZING would that be?!Comment

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

 Anyone here about the Wiicade?

EDIT: Site is up... works on PC for now and I guess just waiting for Opera to be available on the Wii... nothing special, but still coolWiiCade, a Wii remote-compatible website meant to be used with Wii's Opera web browser. In the WiiCade, users will be able to play flash games designed to for Nintendo's wand apparatus. The site will feature 15 games when it launches on Sunday, 2 of those being Wii exclusives that use the remote uniquely. All games are vector based and auto-fit to your tv set.

How WiiCade will work with the remote other than mouse-like functions i do not know, but let's see if it amounts to more than Breakout. WiiCade can also be accessed through a PC to upload games or create your own homebrew Geometry Wars killer. I loves me some homebrew.

Yes and no. There is or is soon going to be an USB dongle for ethernet hookup. It is only WiFi out of the box.Comment
