Mario Kart wii online is a BLAST. I mean really really fun. I still can't seem to decide on a VC game to download. I got 1000 pts. Anything a must? Is tecmo Bowl still fun to play? Either that or Baseball stars 2

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion
I'm a little mystified as to why I got a 360 first when I could have had a Wii all this time. The Virtual Console is simply amazing, fairly well priced games (although, you can buy some of the original cartridges for cheaper on eBay - on the flip side, some are far more expensive on eBay for the original game), and a well done emulator; I really like that it saves your progress when you quit so I can exit Super Mario and not start over again like the original
Kind of a cheat, but it's nice to take my time playing a game sometimes.

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion
My own VC games for me were:
Paper Mario
Super Mario Bros World
Zelda: Link to the Past (I would get the others if they weren't on a Gamecube Collector's disc I have)
The SNES Star Wars Trilogy
Other fun ones I have are:
Super Mario Bros 1-3, 64
Mario Kart 64 (unless you get the Wii Mario Kart, WHICH YOU NEED TO GET!)
Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2
Punch-out! (Unless you get the new Wii version)
Atlanta Braves - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion
I finally got a Wii last Saturday and I like it more than I thought I would. I guess it's because i'm not like some folks and so hung up on graphics I can't enjoy a good game. Anyways, I'd highly recommend the Tecmo Bowl Arcade virtual game to download. I spent several hours playing it last night. The game is a blast.
I got Super Punch Out, Mario Kart and Excitebots with my system. I'm considering buying the new Mario game next as I loved the mario games.
Does anyone know if they are going to make F-Zero for the Wii? I mean as a new Wii game, not a download.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I didn't even know there was an arcade version before Tecmo Bowl was released on the NES. Do you know if there was any difference between the arcade version & the NES version?I finally got a Wii last Saturday and I like it more than I thought I would. Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion
I bought both Tecmo Bowl games on Saturday, the NES game and the arcade game. The arcade looks quite a bit better with bigger player models and just overall looks better field wise too. It plays slightly slower than the NES version. The arcade plays in 30 seconds increment, which you can make longer so you don't have to keep "inserting coins". There are only two teams, the Mustangs and the Wildcats (Red & Blue) and no play selection (you just pick your WR you want before the play starts on offense). There are also no real players and as far as I know, I don't see any player names at all.
I know from the way i'm describing it that the NES version sounds better but I played both for a little bit and I think the Tecmo Bowl Arcade is simply much more fun to play than the NES version. I'd highly recommend it!! I've played for about 3 hours so far and still not getting tired of it yet.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion
My ultimate Tecmo Bowl would be to use the Arcade as a template, with the bigger, rounder players, instead of using the NES/SNES player looks. Then put in real NFL teams, classic (or current) NFL players. Give us some better textures for the field and the players in form of HD graphics. Keep the sounds about the same but maybe make them in 5.1. Then add some weather (white field with footprints, brown/green field with puddles) and Tecmo would be rolling in the dough.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
