Good Lord the sheer amount of VC games is amazing. Games like splatterhouse, kid icarus, pro wrestling, r-type, renegade...lol the 360 is so gone.

The DS demos only work for as long as you have the DS turned on. Once you turn it off, you would have to download the demo again. Seems like a quick way to play a game every once in a while without buying it though. I haven't really done too many demos on the DS but my daughter has at the store. It seems like the full game, just temporary while the DS is on.

Until you start downloading them and realize that there is a criminally small amount of storage space on the Wii.

There are a lot of good games though, even if nearly every release so far in 2008 has been crap.

You can pick up a SD card pretty cheap...

I agree though, and there was even an article on Yahoo's front page a week or so ago about how the Wii's biggest weakness is the quality of games. The average score of Wii games is way lower than 360 or PS3. Sure, you have your good games on the Wii, but there are almost double the complete crap games on Wii as well.

I was actually talking about the VC releases so far this year, but yeah, overall the Wii has more shovelware than any other console. Buy Nintendo published games and you're safe, everything else, read up on it.

As for the SD cards, you have to transfer the games from the Wii to the card, and then if you want to play them you have to transfer them BACK to the Wii. In a way you're better off downloading them again when you want to play them, though it's a major pain either way.

Yeah, the crippled storage of the Wii has me turned off from VC lately. I have 12 spots total left and then I'm done. I'll have to delete and redownload the games to play them again, VERY annoying.

For the record, I've transferred them to the SD card and back before, and it's actually faster to redownload. Either way, Nintendo has to figure out a solution for this and fast.

that does suck, I didn't know the SD card was that limited....what was Nintendo thinking?

That royally sucks. Has that kind of turned you off from the system?

No, not at all, just from buying some VC games I normally would, holding out for the big games I really want in order to save space.

Hopefully they update the system where you can store on the SD cards if that is even possible to give people more space.

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

I was on the Wii very briefly before work registering a new MK friend, and I noticed that WiiWare has gone live today!

I have 7500 Wii points saved up for WiiWare (hoping that there are some great downloads).

Any idea where to find reviews of the WiiWare downloads? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Of course, we should all post our impressions of the new WiiWare titles in this thread.

I also downloaded the new Nintendo channel today - I don't have a DS, but that's cool that you can wireless download demos for it from your Wii. I'm a PSP guy, but props to Nintendo on this feature.
Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!

Yeah, WiiWare is live, 6 games went up today. Just saw on Joystiq though, if you got all 6, you would almost use up all the Wii space on most consoles.. LOL Two of the games are over 300 blocks.

Nice job Nintendo, all these great games coming, and we can't get them because we have no freaking room left. LOL

I've got some old games that I never play anymore, I should probably back those saves up on my computer and get them off the console.

so are there demos of these new games we can buy?
