Kind of freakish, but this thread is total bad karma! I had a launch day system and just got the three red lights yesterday?!? I was watching a burned DVD and all of the sudden it froze and the screen got all pixelated. I guess that fried it?!? Sucks...I figure it will be a pain to get fixed through Microsoft, but that isn't right to pay $600 for something to only last 15 months.Comment

Wow, I was able to revive mine by unplugging it, removing the harddrive, and then plugging it back in and powering it back up. We'll see how long this lasts...I'm scared now.Comment

Or it could be that his power cord wasn't properly locked into its port. I've had this. It resulted in the 3 red lights. I plugged it properly and haven't had a hint of a problem since.Comment

I've had mine since launch and done all of the following:
Had marathon 5-6 hours sessions
Travelled with it in and out of a suitcases and hot cars on long work trips
Left it on overnight to download demo's
and luckily i've never had a problem so far. *touches wood*Comment
because you'll get them again. Every time that happens they always come back sorry for the bad news. It's a crappy system design, thank you MS.
