PS3 background change??? Problem

My PS3 this morning is a brown/white color instead of the normal black/white? Is it something I did or is it a problem?

Mine changes color as well. I don't what makes it do this but its not uncommon. At least not in my little part of the world.

I wish that you could have your own background setting.

EDIT: Wait a minute I do remember reading something about it changing periodically but can't remember what does it. Time of day maybe??

Time of day changes, and it's changed from Red to black to now brown. I think it just changes randomly. But in the morning, it's light, at night it's always dark.

I don't know what changes it. I personally like the black and white. Right now mine is black and white, so I don't know if time of day is the answer because it was the same color last night.

time of day as well as actual day (not sure if day of week or day of month)... if you go to the internet browser on the ps3 and the page that loads up shows little hints & tips about different sections. one of them was "did you know you can change the time and date to get different background colors" or something along that line.

doesn't the PSP do this as well, I thought somewhere in the browser on the PSP there was a setting for the background to change monthly.

Yeah, the PSP background changes monthly if you don't select another background.

The PS3 shares the exact same Themes Changes with the PSP. There are 12 colors total, 1 color background change per month. As the day progresses the color of the month will change based on the time of day.

For those that own a PSP it does the same thing as the XMB Interface is also borrowed from the PSP.

It's like the PSP Sky, it changes colors. The PSP would change colors every month when I had it.

Very neat idea, but could really confuse people.
