    Microsoft 360 Wireless router question?

Now Microsoft denies this even to be a problem, but some of the sites have said that if you have a mirror in the way of the connection, the router will not work.

Well I do. Here is my set up. My game system is upstairs in my bedroom. It is against one of my 4 walls. And my dresser ( with a mirror ) is directly across from my system. My room is not that big. I am trying to avoid having to run ethernet cable down through my walls, into my basement, up into the living room, and then into the dining room where my high speed computer is sitting.

I do have a high speed internet connection. However here is one of the problems that I will have. My brother has a PS3 which is situated in his bedroom. And if he or I want to play at the same time we can't. Because the is only one available port on the back of the modem. I know the do not sell a splitter ( like they sell for telephones ) where you can plug to in to one. I was going to look into getting the NetGear Max wireless router for $80.00. At least something that he and I can both use from upstairs. Something that is wireless the has 2 hardlines into the back of the unit. And two wireless connections. I will wait to see what you guys suggest.

You might want to just get a wireless router from a store that will accept returns, even if opened within 30 days or something and just try it out. A mirror might affect the router's signal strength but I don't think it'll keep it from working.

A mirror should not affect anything, that doesn't even make sense. You simply need a wireless router.

I game in the basement, modem and wireless router are on the 2nd floor of the house, and I have no issues. This is what I use Linksys WRT54G

It's almost always "on sale" for $50, and works great.

Exactly. The problem has nothing to do with a mirror and MS is correct in saying so.

Does your cellphone go through the mirror? Sure it does. So does a wireless router as it's the same thing.

What if your entire room was made of mirrors though, like instead of walls you had mirrors? I wonder if that would affect things.

Shouldn't matter. It's just radio waves....
