i'm trying to host a multi game of Gears of War but the game's telling me my firewall setting will not allow me to. im running Window Xp (from 99'). how do i adjust my firewall settings fso that i can do this. i also can't do private chats, but i can do other things play on line. thx...

Run the xbox live connection test from the system blade under network settings.

What does it say for NAT?

goto xbox.com forums and search NAT problems they have lots of step by step things to help you.

If it is a NAT problem - it says strict or moderate, not open - here's a nice guide:

Most likely if it's a NAT issue and your router is on the approved list you will need to do what I had to do and upgrade your firmware. Don't forget to write down all of your router settings as you will need to input all them when you're done with the firmware upgrade is complete.
