    I was curious...

    1. How many of you sell back your games after you beat them or a new version is out(mainly sports games)?
Sadly, I almost never keep my games and get ripped off.

    2. Whenever there's a new copy of a game and a used copy, which do you get?
I ALWAYS get the used if possible.

I get my used games from ebay, since you get a better deal than from ebgames, who take games and mark them up as used.

I mean, ebgames has old used 360 games like king kong for $40 when you can get it for $15 or less on ebay.

        Re: I was curious...

I've been selling games on amazon.com. On newer ones I can get $10-15 more than what I'd get if I trade it in at Gamestop/EB. Also the person who buys it from me is getting it for less than what they'd pay at Gamestop/EB. For example last month Gamestop offered $24 for BS:Midway and they were selling it for $55 used. I sold mine for $42 on amazon and netted $37 (amazon charges a commision).

I'm buying mostly new games for the 360, but I'm always looking for deals to avoid spending $60 a game. I've been getting some great deals on older 360 games used at amazon.com.

ebgames does it to make money, but it is a horrible deal. Like you, sellers on ebay get decent money for old games, while buyers get a nice deal. I don't see why anyone goes to get gouged or raped at ebgames anymore. The internet is a far better place to trade old games.

I keep all the games that I buy unless I hate the game, which means that I will usually sell it the day that I buy it. Like bk said, I buy most of my games from ebay, used or not since you get much better deals than going to a store.

                Re: I was curious...

                1) Ebay is my main avenue of buying/selling sports games, but I use gamefly to rent a lot of games. I don't mind holding on a title for a while until the keep it price dips under $45 (MLB 2K7 can be mine, right now, for $38.69), but usually move onto the next game.

                2) Used, but the thrill is finding a deal on something new.

Also, trade subforums at sites like CheapAssGamer are good to see what you can workout.

                  Re: I was curious...

I keep mine usually or give them to a friend since I figure the karma of giving a game to a buddy or a co-worker is better than the $1.99 EBgames will give me for the game. Plus there is something that really annoys me that EBGames gives me $1.99 for the game and then turns around and sells it for $24.99. So yeah I usually just give my old sports games to friends and keep my non-sports games.

                      Re: I was curious...

1)I'll trade the games in at Gamestop towards new ones, though I've recently started ebay selling and as mentioned you can usually get a couple more bucks there.

As for keeping them, I keep what I consider "classic" games. I have all the Naughty Dog Crash games for PS1, Jak/Ratchet/Sly games on PS2, all the Final Fantasy's, several other RPG's, and overall about a hundred games across all the platforms from the last three generations (I also still have all my NES and SNES games with my little sister). Unfortunately I end up re-buying several later on, usually as "Greatest Hits". I do trade in games like 'Ghost Recon' and other shooters when the new versions drop, but that's primarily due to the lack of single player interest. If a game held me in the single player, odds are I'll hold on to it.

2)I buy all my games new...sticker, shrinkwrap, etc. I hate buying used games in general as I've had some bad experiences.

Stay away from eb/gamestop. I went to purchase MLB07 the Show for the PSP, the guy said ok, can you get the box from the wall? I then asked do I get a 5 to 10 discount since the game is used? He said no, the game isn't used. I said anytime I don't tear open the shrinkwrap, the game is used. Left and found a new copy at Wallyworld.

I can't believe the gall of eb/gamestops. I only trade at Bestbuy and Media Exchange a local trader. I don't get as much as ebay, but I don't have to deal with the hassles either.

                            I keep my games.

The game has to really suck for me to trade it in or sell it. And I always buy new.

I almost always sell them unless i keep them so long that no one really wants them anymore. I've probably owned at least 15-20 360 games at some point and I currently own 2.

If I'm buying a game on release day, I'll buy it new, but other than that I pretty much buy them all on ebay.
