Everything in black looks... bad. It just doesn't work for me. The white is fine with me.

I'm with you on this one. Very tacky. If it were a sleek and shiny black like the PS3 I would like the appearance more I do believe.

I don't feel as though I will upgrade HD's because it would be such a pain and I also don't know what people could do with that much space. Download a ton of tv shows, every arcade game, and have movies just sitting on their HD? Or is Microsoft going to introduce something new to the marketplace?

It's like MS doesnt enjoy their current lead in the market. I hope they dont have the audacity to still flaunt the price difference when talking about the PS3 considering that they offer significantly less for a $20 difference and there's no way to condone the pricetag on the larger HDD either.

@ candyman - If this elite is a permanent edition that pretty much means its not coming in white. Last week's reports were already wrong in calling it limited.

No it is coming in white, around fall. The limited edition is black and as of now will only be available for so long.

Being a DVR with the IPTV thing, but meh, I have an HD DVR already that I can store 200 hours of footage on, so this is of no appeal to me.

Unless I'm missing something, the current 360 design can't output a digital video signal.

Releasing this without the new chip is interesting.

May have to hold off on this till the new chip is confirmed. No reason to rush and buy this April 29th.

To me, that article points out how M$ is being kinda shady to it's customers with this updated 360. If I had bought a 360 much earlier and wanted all of these new features in the beginning, I would be one pissed off customer right now too.

This is the type of system I orginally wanted (missing the wifi), but if it wasn't for Halo, I'm almost positive I would have never owned an Xbox (Thanks to Halo, M$ actually was able to make another console).

Very disappointing. Confirmed that HDMI cannot be in the current system. Also, $179.99 is completely insane for a 120 GB HDD. Just nuts. Also not happy that the Premium won't ever have HDMI either.

The pricing is completly off to me. For $20 more, I can get a PS3 with a Blu-ray player.

What a disappointing official announcement.

I have a feeling these aren't going to sell like MS thinks, and MS could be really hurt by this. Somewhere Sony is working up ideas to combat it. Sony just got back in the game IMO.

IPTV can only operate with fiber opitic networks from what I was understanding. No cable companies in my area are fiber optic, so it's no use for me. And like you, I have a HD-DVR now, don't need to record TV on my 360.

I am really looking forward to the hulabaloo when the Elite rings of death begin. This is a silly move on MS part. I think this will cost them in the long run. When you have this kind of a lead with cr@p components and design, you fix the cr@p first. Oh, well. I will enjoy the hell out of the great games this year and next and if MS continues with this line of thinking I will do what must be done.

BTW Sony and MS are mirroring each other. This Elite is another step towards a home entertainment unit vs game machine. The problem is we are not at the point where we are ready for an all in one machine. The cart is ahead of the horse IMO.

I don't see how Microsoft will "hurt" themselves with this though as they've still got the Core and Premium both available. I don't think this will sell very well at all and the premium will continue to be the SKU of choice.

The reason I say hurt themselves, is that they are now only $20 cheaper than the PS3, and the PS3 contains a Blu-ray player. It gives a lot of ammuntion back to Sony. If you throw in what the PS3 has, in wireless and a HD-DVD drive, you are looking at $779 for the 360. That's what I meant.
