I think I've decided just to get a PS2 to satisfy my gaming needs. What kind of online capabilities does a PS2 have? I know it has a built in ethernet port (on the slimline models), but how do you get online (is it through the games like an X-Box Live enabled game), and do many PS2 games allow for online play?

no there's no unified service.. you'll put your basic network options on a memory card (so u don't have to keep reinputting stuff)... and you create screennames on the games you play (like a screenname for Madden, a screenname for Live, a screenname for Socom, etc)
i believe there's a good amount of games that go onlinehttp://www.myspace.com/phillthegenesis
