Wii component cables
Anybody using something other than the Nintendo brand component cables, and if so are you getting a really good picture. Don't know if I want to wait to order the Nintendo cable if I can pick something else up at the store.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

I got the first party Nintendo cables off of ebay fo $18. Must have been imported. They work great.Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!Comment

Damn this thread pops up a lot...
I use the ones from "Psyclone" or something like that (bought from Wal-mart). They work fine, though I wish they weren't the "squid" type cables so that I could split the video and audio portions and run the audio to my receiver, though it's not an issue after moving my Wii to the other room.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

Shoot, sorry. I guess I should have searched. I have to get a cable where I can separate out the audio. My receiver is on the opposite side of my entertainment center from where the Wii will be.Damn this thread pops up a lot...

Yeah, I'm finding this to be a problem. I guess nobody that makes compenent cables thinks that people use surround sound receivers, because I can't find any that have any length where the split happens. I guess no surround sound for me unless I can think of some way to plug into the tv and then go out from the tv to the receiver. I know the Wii only supports dolby digital, not surround, but I'd still like to be able to have the sound come out of my speakers instead of out of the tv speakers.
