I have been gaming since Atari, and the controller wires have never been that much of a hardship. Anyways, just wondering. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Wireless Controllers
I haven't upgraded to the next gen yet, but I am getting close to buying a 360. I was wondering about the wireless controllers. Obviously, it will be cool not to have a cord to deal with, but are dealing with batteries a hassle? I know there are rechargeble batteries out there, but is it a headache managing that? Do you constantly have to worry about having enough juice to play? Are you always unplugging, recharging, plugging back in etc?

Re: Wireless Controllers
If your getting a 360 not at all. Just pick up a charge and play kit. It comes with a battery pack that you can recharge while playing.Free The Birds!!! -
Re: Wireless Controllers
It's not a big deal at all. Wireless is the only way to go. The batteries last for a significant amount of time - and just like you do with your cell phone, it'll become 2nd nature to make sure your batteries are charged.Comment

Re: Wireless Controllers
plus, they warn you ahead when batteries are almost empty, you still have over half an hour to play then. i bought the quickcharge, charges both batteries in less than 2 hours for over 30hours of gameplay.Comment

Re: Wireless Controllers
No hassle at all, just hookup your plug n' play kit to a PC and charge the controllers when you're not playing. That way they are always ready to go.I haven't upgraded to the next gen yet, but I am getting close to buying a 360. I was wondering about the wireless controllers. Re: Wireless Controllers
I have a Play and Charge kit but have never even opened it! I just change out the batteries (being tethered to the console SUCKS...just ask Sony and their tiny cord).
Since I don't use vibration I get 20 hours or so which is fine. AA batteries aren't THAT expensive
Also, the annoying *** light that spirals on the controller gives you PLENTY of warning.

Re: Wireless Controllers
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Yeah, that doesn't sound too bad. I play for an hour or two every day, so it sounds like I will just need to recharge every week or two. I was worried that it was going to be an ordeal every 2 or 3 days.
It will be weird for me though. I have been "Tethered" since 1978 on the Atari!!! But I am looking forward to the wireless experience.
Thanks again!Comment

Re: Wireless Controllers
I just figured out that's what the annoying spiral light meant when my controller had been doing it for about an hour then finally disconnected for good during an online game.Comment

Re: Wireless Controllers
Okay, this happened the other day and I have no answer and I still don't. I pressed the guide button to turn on my 360 and it didn't turn on. The light around the guide button on the controller just flashes. The other day, the 360 was already on because I was changing games but the controller wouldn't connect. I was connected to the play & charge kit so I know it couldn't be the battery...could it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Wireless Controllers
I've had it happen where I've turned on the controller but my 360 didn't turn on. All it ever took to fix the problem was me turning my 360 and the controller would connect.Okay, this happened the other day and I have no answer and I still don't. Re: Wireless Controllers
You may need to re-synch the controller and the 360. Maybe you accidentally pressed the button to synch the controller when you attached the charging cord to your controller? I know I have done that a couple times.Okay, this happened the other day and I have no answer and I still don't. I pressed the guide button to turn on my 360 and it didn't turn on. Re: Wireless Controllers
It's doing it right now. I was about to load up my legacy to update my thread and I hit the guide button and the ring on the controller just flashes.
Also, can I use my play & charge kit as a wired controller?
