You get to use your current PS3 for 2 years since you have a 2 year warranty. Right before the warranty is up that's when you get the 60gb system. My question is why pay for another warranty when all you want to do is upgrade to the 60gb system and does it have features you must have right now?

In two years time you can take back your 20gb PS3 and complain when they tell you the 20gb machine is not available anymore, so you can pressure them into given you a 60gb PS3 for the same price the 20gb machine cost you.

they'll probably even have had a price drop by then, making it not that hard to swap up since the price difference wouldn't be $100 anymore. I think if he gets the upgrade, it's purely because the manager or whoever wanted to be nice or if Sony makes a policy. They don't really have to give him anything since this is how things go in electronics.

they have to give me something because in the warranty it states a replacement unit is due me, so unless they can comp a 20 gig unit, they will have to give me a 60 gig or give me my money back. as i think about it, i will just hold onto the 20 gig until my warranty is about to expire or until it dies, (which isn't likely since it seems to be a solidly built machine).

          thanks
