PS3 Advice

I've basically made up my mind. After the recent death of my 360, I'm going PS3 this time around. But here's my question: what is THE game to buy?

I'll buy The Show without question, but if I were to go buy the system right now, which game should I get to go with it?

Basically I want something that will carry me to NCAA, if possible, and hopefully The Show will do the trick, but I already played hundreds of hours worth of MLB 2K7, so I'm fearful baseball wil get old pretty quick, no matter how good The Show is.

What are the must have games for the PS3? Is it still Resistance? COD3? Give Oblivion a second go-round? Stick to rentals for now? Help!

I think Motorstorm is the must have game to own if you have a PS3. I only say that because the game is good and it's only getting better as SOny is adding more free content to the game. Resistance is also good but I would not say it's a must have. Motorstorm on the other hand is different enough to warrant a purchase and the game is incredibly fun.

You could download the demos from PSN store and then decide. Resistance, MotorStorm, Ninja Gaiden, NBA 07, Def Jam Icon, etc; are all there.

I have MLB2k7 and COD3 - those two havent gotten boring yet (for me anyways)

i just returned a defective 360 HD-DVD player.. got my money back and i'm gonna buy a ps3 and the show in 2 days... i should have just saved the money and bought a ps3 at first but no good games caught my eye, until now..

Just got home from picking up my PS3. Pre-ordered The Show, and went with Resistance and NHL 2K7 for my starter games. All is right with the world.

NHL 2k7 played pretty nicely on the PS3.
You're not picking a bad "starter" game there.

Ressistance is a pretty cool FPS.
It started off kind of slow, but then it gets pretty chaotic. It's kind of a nice glimpse of what the PS3 will be able to pull of hardware wise in due time.

I'm also in agreement on Motorstorm IF and ony IF you like offroad racing with "nitrous" and some crazy jumps.

Thanks for the welcome, fellas. I gotta say I like 2K7. Presentation's pretty crappy, but the gameplay feels really good, plus it was only 25 bucks.

As for Resistance, that's going back. I must not be into FPS's, because all I see is COD2 with a sci-fi theme: run around and shoot stuff for the simple reason that you're a soldier. BOOOOORRRRRRING.

Overall, though, I'm please with my purchase, and I look forward to being 'member'.
