Anyone playing PS3 on SDTV?

I ask b/c I am considering buying a PS3 instead of keeping my 720p rear projection HDTV I got for $600 (I'll buy a 1080p at Xmas).

Then I'll be playing The Show and Motorstorm on SDTV...anyone had experience w/ this?

I've heard "don't get a PS3 if you don't have an HDTV first." But between now and Xmas, I can only afford one or the other, and I don't really want to play last gen NCAA, Madden and other games this fall.

I'm still on SDTV, though I've got an HDTV ordered. No problems with the PS3 for me on it, though I'm sure it will look much better once the HDTV arrives.

Still play on SDTV. ITs still a big upgrade over the ps2 and it looks great. Granted not as good as HD but it shouldn't keep you from buy the system. I ran into the same money problem and went with the system. Looks good.

I'm wondering the same thing except with 360, I'm just going to buy the system in the next month or two then worry about a new TV when I have enough money again in a few more months. I've seen both systems on SDTV and it's still a lot better than any xbox or ps2 game.

it sucks! still better than ps2 though.. get a reasonably priced hdmi cable on mine and its like night and day.. i can see clearly now.. the haze is gone!! lol!!
