ps3 - monitor or tv?

I would like to get a dedicated tv or monitor for my ps3.

The problem is I only have $400 to spend on it, I understand 1080i or 1080p is out at that price range.

Would a 19" tv with hdmi input be better than a 22" pc monitor with DVI (I have a HDMI/DVI converter).

It would be nice if Sony can come out with a VGA cable for PS3. Then I will buy a PS3 to play on my LCD PC monitor.

To original poster, 19" or 22"? I would go for the 22" with DVI output, if there isn't a dramatic difference between HDMI and DVI output. My LCD is 19" small, and I can't sit too far from it when I play.

I have my PS3 hooked up to my 20" monitor using a HDMI to DVI cable and couldn't be happier with it.

Are you able to play in HD (720p)?

Do you see any distortion?
