    Traveling with a 360

Ill be flying shortly on a little trip. Is my xbox 360 safe inside the checked in luggage or is it allowed on carryon in my backpack? Or is each airlines different in whats allowed and whats not. Should I get there early so when they xray my stuff and want to test it out, we can just that or will everything be ok?

    i just need some reassurance.

I'm expecting no worries at all but who knows

I'd personally carry my 360 onto the plane myself. Most airlines allow one carry-on that fits in the overhead bin so you should be good there.

I would put it in a suitcase, lock it tight, and check it. I think it'd be more trouble than it's worth to carry it on.

If you want a working 360 when you get to your destination, you would be better off carrying it on. I never check in high priced electronics, there's such a great chance of the items being lost or destroyed.

i think theres a weight limit for your carry on bag. one time i had to put my carry on bag on the scale and they said it was too heavy. so they told me to take some stuff out. i took some stuff out and put it on the floor then put it on the scale again and said it was okay. then i just put the stuff i took out and put it in my bag again. lol

not sure what the limit was.

Carry-on because they open all the luggage that is questionable. No telling if your system will make the trip with you. Not to mention that your luggage could get lost and you'd be jacked up. Carry it on with you. It fits inside a nice backpack. How long you going??

Would you put your laptop in a checked bag? If yes then check your xbox... if not, keep it with you. I personally would never check electronic/computer equipment as I have seen how bags get handled at the airport.

                  Re: Traveling with a 360

Carry it on. I make flights back and forth from college to back home fairly often and i always carry-on the 360. It's no different from a Laptop, you take it out of the bag in the security line, thats the only hassle. Its not even about being cautious, its about just plain common sense. The baggage handlers dont know how sensitive any suitcase is unless its written all over it and even then, they're behind schedule loading that flight while another one is coming in, everything is getting thrown around pretty unmercilessly.

I would also put it under the seat and not in the overhead, its cold up there.

I always carry mine on in a duffel bag... When the system first came out and I was traveling back and forth from college they would have me take it out to make sure it wasn't some explosive device.

Now they just ask me "XBOX?" and I nod... Definitely don't trust the airlines with handling your baby.

                        Re: Traveling with a 360

                        thanks guys.

i mainly asked because of the random and sometimes elevated level of "threat" the airports seem to have. and being that Houston is quite a large Hub for continential airlines, i just wasnt sure. I havent flown in 3 years so things mightve changed.

it looks like some of yall have carried your xboxs on recently, so thats what i'll do. I just needed to reconfirm that 360s are still allowed on board.

                        who knows these days.

what about frozen foods and canned non persihable items? maybe thats something i should ask the airlines about
