    PS3 help

so i was using it on my hdtv and it was set to hd settings (ie: 1080p)

but now its connected to a SDTV.. is there a way to set it back to SD without connecting it to an HDTV to reset the settings?

Power it on using the button on the front of the console but instead of releasing it after the first beep, hold it down for about 5 seconds longer and you should get another beep (or two). This automatically detects your video settings for you.

I thought that put the system back to factory default settings?

My understanding is that it is only dealing the display settings. I think I had to do it once myself and I don't remember it resetting everything.
