Big PS3 Issue:

I have a Samsung DLP that plays 720p and 1080i. I have my ps3 hooked up to my dvi input with an hdmi to dvi cable. The problem is every time I play a PS3 game, the game wont use the entire screen and there are big black bars around the screen. . This happened with the Show, Uncharted and Smackdown vs. Raw. It seems to do this when its in 720p


Now I fooled around with display settings and tried to force the PS3 to only use 1080i. This worked for Uncharted but for the Show I still had the borders and for SVR the game would only play in 480p.

Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix? Thanks

me, all the time. It's Sony's problem despite what I have been told that it's my router. That is just not the case since I have the problem when hooked up directly and not using the router. 2 houses, 2 internet conections, same problems both times.

i think it is your router. i was having the disconnect problems when i first got my ps3 and i played around with the router settings and I don't have that issue anymore.

Another thing you can check is in network settings I think. Check to make sure the auto sign in is on. For some reason since I checked that box, it hasn't logged me out once in about 3 months.

i downloaded some nba live rosters... how do i get them onto my ps3??

i put them on my usb drive and plugged them in but when i got o Load on NBA live nothing shows up except the stuff on the HD.

Roster sharing PS3
PS3 Direction

1. Make sure you have inserted your USB 2.0 flash drive
2. On the cross media bar (XMB) go to the “GAME” section
3. In game menu select “Saved Data Utility”
4. Scroll to your roster save and press triangle a sub menu pops up
5. In the sub menu select “Copy”
6. Select destination window pops up, highlight your flash drive and press “X.

Your rosters are now saved on your flash drive. The PS3 will create a PS3 folder for you, keep this folder for future transactions, it looks like this on your PC. F:\PS3\SAVEDATA\BLUS30014-ROSTERS the drive letter will change depended upon your set up. Your PC will recognize it as a removable drive. The rosters are in the SAVEDATA folder, this is where you will retrieve your rosters. The roster file has 4 files within the folder, they are as follows: IN THE BLUS30014-ROSTERS

1. HED-DATA 8bytes
2. PARAM.PFD 32KB
3. PARAM.SFO 2.67KB
4. USR-DATA 480KB


PC DIRECTIONS

1. Insert your flash drive in available USB slot.
2. Dbl click on “MY COMPUTER”
3. Dbl click on removable F: drive (remember depended upon set up drive letter changes)
4. Dbl click on PS3
5. Dbl click on SAVEDATA
6. Drag and drop roster file on your desktop.
7. Open your email and select new mail and chose who you are sending it too.
8. Attach each file individually. The ones up above. I’m assuming you guys know how to do this already, attach files I mean.
9. Once you receive the email, save the attachments into your “SAVEDATA” folder on your flash drive. Again don’t delete the Folder the PS3 creates for you on the flash drive.

Now unplug your removable drive, insert the flash drive in your PS3.

1. Go to the “GAME” menu
2. Select “Save Data Utility”
3. Highlight your USB Flash Drive
4. Press “X”
5. Press Triangle sub-menu pops up and then you select copy. Your files are now loaded onto your PS3

Once rosters are done, they can be Winzipped and attached to any thread.

I have the same exact set up as you down to the dvi imput with a hdmi-dvi cable. I fixed it I believe. In Warhawk. I went into the games video options and moved the borders with the sliders. try it in each games video options.

one thing i've been disappointed in is the load times. is it because of the blu ray disc? 360 is better in this aspect.

Actually the way information gets read, the blu ray is suppose to be faster.

Actually the way information gets read, the blu ray is suppose to be faster.

What games are you having problems with?
