Refurbished PS3 on Gamestop.

I was at Gamestop last night and they had a refurbished PS3 (60gb) for $499.99.

They offered a 30 days warranty. I asked if Sony would honor the 1yr warranty they give new systems but no one could answer this.

I asked them to open the packaging and the console was in excellent condition. The controller had some wear but it looked almost like new.

You guys think it's a good price for refurbished console?

I almost pulled the trigger but bailed out at the end.

Thing is, for some reason I can't get to pull the trigger on the 60gb for $600. It's like a mental block that won't allow me to buy a console for more than $500. I've been asking around stores if they have one of the 20gb versions lying around but no go.

as you may know ,the 20 gb was discontinued. I'd say that's a good deal. But do get the warrenty. First I've heard the ps3 breaking down though.

BTW the system comes with the 30 day warranty.

They offered a 1 yr warranty for $60. BS I said.

The PS3 comes with a 1 year from Sony. Not sure how that works on Refurbs though.

I would call Sony first before pulling the trigger before you potentially get burned.

I dunno man, if you're all ready kicking out 500 I'd just get the 60 gb one and bite the bullet...but that's just me, i'd hate to look back 6 months from now and go "Why was i cheap back then?"

I know where you're coming from though, 600 bucks is just too much for my brain right now, so i can't blame your internal hesitation.

If you find out for sure that the refurb is still 1-year warranty from Sony, then I would do it. If its not and you have no need or known future need for wi-fi, then theres nothing wrong with a 20GB. Also its easy to upgrade the hard drive.
