    Virdict on the Elite

i'm still livin' n Bedrock times playin' my games on my ps2 (although i won't trade it n b/c i love playin' S.O.C.O.M.) but i was thinkin' of gettin' the new Xbox 360 Elite. i was also thinkin' about gettin' the PS3 but the guy @ Game Stop as well my brother & friends kind of talked me out of it. so i was wonderin' what every1s take is on the Elite. besides gettin' a bigger hard drive is it worth payin' that much more that the regular 360?

    Re: Virdict on the Elite

Only if you plan on using the harddrive space (ie. downloaded movies). I have a regular 360 and the harddrive is more than enough for my uses (game saves and some arcade games).

Out of curiosity, what talked you out of the PS3? If you like the PS2 line-up of games, why not dive into the PS3?
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want or need HDMI go with the Elite; otherwise the pro system should be fine. You probably won't need the larger hard-drive unless you plan to download tons of movies and TV shows.

I've had the Elite since launch after having a Pro since Nov. launch. Both worked fine and the same except for the Elite having a bigger HDD, HDMI and being black. Those three factors were enough for me to trade the Pro for the Elite.

The only upgrade a Premium to a Elite has is the HDMI, the bigger HDD (which you can buy by itself), and the black color.

If you need HDMI, buy an Elite, otherwise, I'd go with a premium. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I was almost out of space on my current HDD, I had just over 3 gigs left, the bigger HDD is a must. For $80 more, I'd go with the Elite if you don't already have a 360.

Issues with the PS3? Meaning what, the 360 is the one with all the big hardware issues. Either console is a good choice but at least ask some credible sources before making a decision. BTW any EB or Gamestop employee is almost never a credible source for anything. They have agendas, as do the top dogs who run the company. So I'd stay away from their advice 99% of the time.

Go with the Elite man... why not get the best option available? Plus, I think the HDMI makes things look that much better, especially when watching movies with the HD DVD attachment.

at some point I have to figure out a way to clear like 500 Oblivion saves without losing the saves I care about, and not have it take hours, ugh...i'd get the bigger HD if it'd been out when I got mine

well i haven't only just asked EB or Gamestop employees 2 get a final decision on which console i would buy, i've asked gamers as well doin' a lil research. as 4 hardware issues, i've heard that Microsoft has addressed that issue w/ the Elite (a quieter system as well as overheatin' issues) . now i haven't read up on the 411 lately, but i've heard the PS3 is still havin' issues w/ reverse compatibility, firmware as well as overheatin'. now how true is that, i don't know, i will have 2 do some more research on that. now i do agree w/ u when u say, "u can't go wrong w/ either system" & the Xbox has been out a lil' longer than the PS3, so they have had a lil more time 2 tweak the 360 2 make it the Elite (no pun intended) of the 2 systems. maybe i'll just wait 'til the price drops (rumored) on the PS3. i'm just not willin' 2 spend 6 bills on it just yet.

Yes, this is true. Some have agendas, others are just plain clueless.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

this maybe true, but the 1 employee that i asked was my brother's brother n law & the 2nd employee (Game Crazy) & good friend that i asked, also said 2 go w/ the 360. & these r both die hard (as i am) Playstation gamers. so i came on here just 2 get others insight. i didn't just want 2 go on being a faithful Playstation gamer as being my deciding factor.
