    3 yr replacement for $29

Has anyone bought this with their 360 at Target? It seems like a great price for this length of time, but I'm hesitant especially when you compare it to something at Best Buy.

That sounds like the 3-year extended warranty that Target offers.

So does it not work well?

What is the Best Buy deal?

I apologize for asking so many questions but this deal looks amazing, and I haven't jumped into the next gen yet, so...

I don't have first-hand knowledge of the specifics for either deal, but this thread discussed some of the details for both the Best Buy Product Replacement Plan (PRP) and the Target offer.

I haven't made the next-gen move yet either, so I have been doing a lot of research on 360 vs. PS3, where to buy, warranty plans, etc. I might end up purchasing my system (leaning towards Xbox 360 at this point) at Costco, who basically offers a free unlimited warranty for gaming systems, plus their bundles are very good deals.

Yes, I forgot to mention it's from Target. There is a mention of it in Target's Sunday ad today.

The Target warranty s a great deal although you are required to send in your unit. I'm not sure who picks up the shipping. Some on OS have used it and had no complaints. That's probably where i'll buy my next 360 once the price drop hits.

There's no way that's a replacement plan, for one. It's just a warranty. They wont give you a new system, just fix the one you have.

there's also a number of people reporting that best buy won't honor the product replacement plan they purchased with the 360 that allows them to swap out in stores. They instead give you a number to call and send your 360 in.

If true, then this sucks..but also shows that they are getting way to many returns as well.

This is what the product replacement plan has said for years at Best Buy if you read the contract. It's just that managers at each store have discretion in pretty much every situation.

If the sales rep told you that you could bring the broken 360 into the store after the manufacturer's warranty expires, but before the plan expires, they were telling you store policy...Not official Best Buy policy.

that's an awfully gray area. I was told I could bring mine back into the store for any reason I desire and be able to walk out with a new 360 with no hassle. I'm going to florida for a bit, but my 360 is due for a return. I'm good at getting what I want from retailers, so I guess I'll see if they'll keep their word.

Since I'm in the market for a new 360 and a warranty, this thread has piqued my interest.

That being said, I've been ****ed so often with Best Buy's repair plan for my HDTV's (still have a pink blobbed SXRD that they won't replace until it's "fixed" with the same part for the third time) that I'm hesitant to buy the system there. I have a feeling they'll make you send it in as opposed to a even steven swap.

What about Gamestop? What's their plan? Sounds like Target (and I would imagine Wal-mart) have a send-in warranty as well.

                          GRRRRRR!!

Gamestop's warranty is 1 year, just like XBox's which is free.

Johnny, GameStop's warranty is for 1 year, and you just take the Xbox in when it breaks, and get a brand new one. No sending it off, and waiting for it to get back to you.
