The PSP price cut obviously had a big effect. Glad to see that a great platform is selling more units.

My lord . . . The Wii units sold nearly QUADRUPLED PS3 units????? And this is with the Wii still not in full supply and the PS3 in ample supply everywhere? Wow.

This generation is the Wii's to lose.

so they show that casual gamers buy cheap consoles. I think that was well known, especially shown by how the ps2 is still selling well. Looking at the numbers, with all these Wii's selling, you'd think they'd have more games in the top selling lists. That's got to be something to look at in the next few months. Who cares how many wii's sell if the games sell like crap.

Is that North America? Did the GameBoy Advance seriously only sell 1,000 less systems than the PS3? The GBA is basically dead. My God...

At this point, I don't know if it's even possible to right the ship. The PS3 is just not selling at all. What title is going to cause it to sell? Metal Gear? Home? Final Fantasy? I mean, what would make people all of a sudden say, "I need a PS3". Obviously it wasn't MLB 07 The Show, which is unfortunate.

they need to drop the price. The hardware might be a steal at $600, but not many people care. It's still going to be a videogame machine for most people.

True, but where to, I mean is $500 going to change anyone's feelings? XBL has become huge, so has the fact of the the now installed 360 base. The games are coming on the 360, people know about it's online features, and add in the Halo factor. Could be a brutal fall for Sony if they don't get a killer app out there, and I don't see one. With MGS being moved back to next year, there's not a single exclusive game I see that is going to make people run to buy PS3's this holiday, no matter what the price is.

Yeah, yesterday I was at Best Buy and I was in the mood for buying a PS3 because I already have the 360 and I'm itching to play The Show.... Then I went to get the box and remembered it cost $600 bucks... This thing would be so more attractive to me even at $499... ugh Sony you're killing me!

You guys are forgetting one thing...the female audience. Women love the Wii (LOL! ) and so many of them have it. THAT'S the reason why ya'll can't find one, it's those chicks that do nothing but shop at the mall when you guys are at work.

That is a very good point though...It's cheap enough and intriguing enough for more people to buy it. I know even with me, I'd be interested in a PS3, but I'll probably be getting a Wii first because it's cheaper and has mostly unique games (compared to the 360, right now not a ton of Sony exclusives besides The Show to draw you in).

I would absolutely love to have The Show, but I just can't justify it quite yet, especially since i've got other purchases to make.
