XBOX live question

I finally got my live hooked up and been playing for about a week. But every so often I get disconnected and it says messenger disconnected and i am signed out from xbox live. Anyone have this problem before?

Yeah...just wish I could figure out what that problem was without having to call someone out and pay them.

Do you have your Xbox run through a router? That could be the source of your problem.

Yeah...its running through a lynksys(spelling?) router. Maybe I should try turning it off and reseting it.

You might want to try updating the firmware of the router and see if that makes a difference.

Firmware is basically the operating system of the router, just like Windows is for a PC. You can go to their website and get directions for upgrading the firmware.

Ok..Thanks i"ll try that. I just got the router last week so I wouldn't think I needed to upgrade anything but maybe that has nothing to do with it.

Another question for someone who might know.....When it says disconnected from messenger, is the messenger my router?

Unplug the modem and the router. Than plug in the modem first let it load up than plug in your router
