Anybody else had this problem with their 360?

Ok yesterday I was playing NHL 07 having a good ol time. The game was over so I removed the disc to play a quick game of NBA 2K7. I put the disc in and heard a terrible noise so I removed it quickly. I put the disc in and the tray would not close all the way like its stuck on something.

I removed the disc and tried to close the tray and it closes but will not stay closed. Even when I turn the console off the tray will close and then open back up before the system shuts down.

I have no ring of death and the console works fine except I can't place any disc in the system because the tray will pop right back open and will not read the disc . Anybody else have this problem before?

P.S. What luck. 2 weeks before NCAA and All Pro and yest was my birthday when it happened .

I'll tell you something, I keep hearing all kinds of horror stories with the 360. It's like every day. I traded mine about two months ago for a PS3. Some days I feel worried that I made the wrong decision (the 30/60fps going on in the football games, as well as the general lack of games for the PS3 at this point.), but with all of this talk of the Red Rings of Death and other weird sh!t going on, I don't think I made the wrong decision.

I can't afford own two consoles, nor do I think i could have the time to play both enough to warrant such purchases...

BTW, don't you have both machines? Worst case scenario, you could just get NCAA for the PS3 to hold you over.

That really sucks...

I'm waiting on Microsoft to send me the box so I can send it out. Its still under warranty so I don't have to pay for it, its just the wait is going to suck. Hopefully I can get it back before the football games drop.

I do have a PS3 but most of my games are for 360 just out of personal preference. Appreciate your response . I'm praying I get it back before NCAA and APF drop. I was going to hunt for NCAA but it's not point in torturing myself by having the game and having no system.

It will be a joyful day when and if the 360 gets rid of its disk tray and gets the slot loading set up like the ps3.
