Basic 360 Question
I just have a quick question...if I buy the basic 360 Console (for $299), then must I buy a memory card? Or does the cheapest 360 have a hard drive that I can save my games on?
Thanks for your help.Tags: None -
Re: Basic 360 Question
Your gonna need to buy a memcard. Core doesn't have anything to save games with (unless you buy a bundle that has a memcard in it). I know you didn't ask for my opinion, but I would just spring for the Xbox 360 (w/ harddrive), as you'll end up needing the hdd if you plan on downloading any content from Xbox Live or Marketplace. Plus wireless controllers are pretty sweet. Good luck with your decision bruh. -

Re: Basic 360 Question
Also I know you didn't ask this... but if you have an HD-TV you'll definitely want the Premium. It comes with HD cables which is something the Core doesn't have.
The Premium is a far better value.Comment

Re: Basic 360 Question
I asked this question in another thread, but I guess I'll ask again. I'm contemplating picking up a 360 and I was wondering if the Elite system is worth the extra bucks over the premium system? I have an Olevia 27" (720p, 1366x768) with HDMI input.

Re: Basic 360 Question
The HDMI would be nice but from what I've seen it's not worth the extra cost in and of itself. The main question for you is the size of the HDD. Will you be downloading a lot of stuff off XBL? If so, the 20GB probably won't be enough for you, and the Elite will be worth it. If you don't think you'd use all 13GB available on the Premium, then it's not worth moving up to the Elite.Comment

Re: Basic 360 Question
Thanks for the input. Am I right in believing that most of the "extra" content for the games costs extra and isn't free? I don't see myself downloading a lot of content at all really. The HDMI would be nice but from what I've seen it's not worth the extra cost in and of itself. Re: Basic 360 Question
Really depends on the genre and the game in question. New games modes your probably gonna have to pay for. New maps, 50/50. Of course, you got Rainbow 6 Vegas which just made their two content packs free so it varies. You probably already know but their are also things like movies (trailers and feature-length films) and demos that you can download. You might say now that your probably not gonna use those features, until its right there in front of you and then its nice to have that extra space :wink:Comment

Re: Basic 360 Question
alot of it costs money, but every so often, you do get some "gracious" companies who decide to put it out for free through a corporate sponsorship kind of thing.Comment

Re: Basic 360 Question
Even if they cost now, OXM has the same content in later issues for free. So you can get them free after a while and would need the HD for that.Joshua:

Re: Basic 360 Question
I always recommended the hard drive. It will save you money in the long run.
I have a Premium 360 and have yet to run out of space, every game video or demo I download I delete when I get done watching them. You can just download them again.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Basic 360 Question
It depends, but I would venture to guess that most of it are between .5gb and 1gb in size. Maybe 2gb. So the space can go rather quickly, but like the other poster said, you can delete the old stuff and download it again later if you want. Anything you paid for stays on your account so you never pay twice.Comment
