      Well, I got it to eject.

      And I'm assuming this has happened to more people besides me?

          It happened to me and was the reason I had to send my xbox to microsoft the first time. It got stuck and when it finally got open it wouldn't close, then it closed and stayed stuck so I had to send it in and pay for shipping.
